The kid is very brave. If they lmow about this since they are babies, it's easy for everybody. Maybe it was a little too much pressure. I've did it to my kid but a little slower than you and with saline solution. I find the injection of 5/10ml easier.

Lean your head down forward into the sink as much as possible, gravity will do the work for you.. if your head isn’t down far enough to allow the water to pass from one nostril to the next, you’ll risk it falling down the back of your mouth into your throat giving you that drowning/burning feeling like you were pushed into the pool unexpectedly or something. Also, squeeze lightly, slowly and gently .. too much pressure is like you’re forcing the water to “drown” you vs. a simple nasal rinse.. another thing, hold your breath (don’t inhale while squeezing the water in) , not sure if you were doing that already but just another suggestion that will help too bcuz that’s like you’re breathing in water so you’ll definitely have that choking, burning, drowning sensation… a nasal rinse done properly shouldn’t cause pain or too much discomfort.. hopefully this helps you a bit. ❤️❤️

Every kid is a little different at the toddler age. This child started as a baby and grew to ask for it when she was sick because she knew it made her feel better. So the earlier in age you start, the better. If starting later in toddlerhood, I suggest going with what the child likes: games, prizes, explanation, having parents or siblings do it, etc. Theres also a nasal syringe that can be used that maybe technically easier to use. Ill make a video soon on that device!
