I’m glad some people are comfortable with putting themselves in the public view, but I think it’s fine to be off camera.

I like to think I’ll work up to showing my face (and so does Mandi…) but really I just feel I’m a whole lot less interesting to look at than all these great games 😊

I've been very curious about solo journaling RPGs - so happy you're bringing this genre to Salt & Sass!

I’m loving this new series already~ I am someone who can rarely play board games with others. And this helps a lot! Was wondering if you are gonna cover maybe a list of some sort of beginner solo rpg games or maybe more insight into your collection. Also I was wondering how do you get in to your characters mind if you will to even begin the rpg journaling process? Looking forward to all the future videos~

Just came across your channel. I have Apothecaria and a bunch of the expansions - I absolutely love the world. I bought Colostle at the UKGE on Saturday. I'm not sure how I will get on with it as I prefer the mechanics of the game to the journalling - in fact, I don't jpurnal i just take notes. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of your videos.

Thanks for taking the time to message -- Apothecaria sure is a great design, and one that is hard to top!

Looking forward to more in this series! I've recently been playing Apothecaria with help from Table Fables I & II, and I've been having a good time. I also played a game called Procedures to Discover the Path Ahead in order to build out the setting a bit before (drawing a map, etc.). I have to say, I am NOT a fan of the journaling part though. That feels like work. I just like making the story in my head, and recording videos serves as my way of "remembering" everything. I like Apothecaria because of the actual game elements of it: tracking money and reputation, figuring out which places to go for which herbs, within the allotted time, buying upgrades, etc. I looked into Colostle, and it looked almost purely like writing prompts, which is a pass for me. I've also been reading through Ironsworn: Starforged and really wanna get it to the table, as well as Mythic 2E.

I totally get where you are coming from! As much as I enjoy journaling, writing down the story certainly slows down the pace of the game. I find there are many happy mediums “journal optional” games where the character sheet has ways to keep track of major story elements. I’ll see if I can cover some soon 😊

Welcome to KZbin, Stephanie! I’m so looking forward to this series. Suzanne and Mandi talk about solo RPGs sometimes, but I haven’t been able to cobble together enough to know if I’d like any of the ones that they suggest, so I’m happy to have a series to focuses just on these games. Btw, the llama is cute.
