Amazing Tim, thanks for the the euphoria I experienced, induced by these unorthodox chord changes, harmonies and cohesion of this cardiacs track. It makes my spine tingle. Thank you.so much.

Very well put. Nobody, NOBODY writes such unpredictable, magical chord progressions like Tim Smith.

John Fauxhemians Hillman gotta agree with you, seems like Tim’s Cardiacs next work was heading in an even more epic direction. Here’s hoping our leader recovers. Firstly and most importantly for his own health and happiness, secondly to finalise the Album, it’s out there.

There is a youtube of Tim receiving a doctorate in Salisbury in late 2018. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKOchI2Mfc95ipI Sadly, he doesn't seem in great shape. Best wishes to him anyway and thanks for the truly fabulous music.

One of the only contenders I can think of is "Dirty Boy," which is also of course by Cardiacs. Or "Faster Than Snakes With A Ball And A Chain".

Hungry mouths to feed, Sick aggregate. Sworn in, scorning, Fast and just wheezing for air. And hail. Golden phrasing I, Lights and principles. Only squeaking. Luck’s ferocious left hand, Stalled. Now multiply a ten-strong baying million, All charred, all hearts full of hurting. Testifying in me. Thwart this ditzy scene, Gilded capital. Hanging, swinging, Loss of fury, heed, loss of spark. Raise! Pull! Now multiply a ten-strong baying million, All charred, all hearts full of hurting. Testifying in me. Please calming time and disarm to cease this lynching army, Bad hour, condemned and revolting, Lasting out not shortly. All ranting, merciless chanting, smash my legs beneath me, Lives darkly, this is the moment, Honest, this is rid me.

Kind of prophetic lyrics in light of Tim's ensuing misfortune. "All hearts full of hurting, testifying in me, bad hour, condemned and revolting, lasting out not shortly, smash my legs beneath me, this is rid me..." The subconscious works in mysterious ways...

Damn you, pop music police, with your fetish for the streets and your horror of learned music. Without you, stuff like this would be mainstream today. (Or perhaps a little less good than this. Few reach Tim Smith's level.)
