"Todzungaira" is an important piece of the repertoire of the mbira dza vadzimu of the Shona people of Zimbabwe. A song of lamentation and a prayer for things to change for the better.

The aim of this project is to change perceptions about how African traditional music can be presented and perceived, with a secondary aim of decolonizing the string quartet and all that it represents.
