Hi Juva. Thanks so much for educating us TOEFL learners/students. I wonder whether I can write... "I halfheartedly agree and halfheartedly disagree on the statement because ..." or " I do not completely agree nor do I completely disagree on what was said due to..." instead of writing... "I completely agree or disagree..." before stating the two reasons... Will it lower or increase the score? Thanks in advance!

Hello Dhruv Iyer, Congratulations for your score! I'd personally like to ask you a question, how did you find the speaking part; was it challenging? did you manage to say everything you wanted in 45 seconds, was the time short and did you hesitate ? Because honestly I feel like preparing for 15 or 30 seconds isn't that much. Best regards

My brain immediately came up with: DISAGREE and I took those notes: 1. Distraction and 2. brain development. Thank you so much. I am Chinese and my last TOEFL score is 109( R:29 L:27: S:19 S:26). Apparently, my speaking score is not satisfactory. Actually, I am confused by some guide books which show me how to take notes and write bare-bones outliens. I can never take notes as detailed as shown in these books. Now, I have finally realized they are somehow misleading. Your methods are much more useful and practical. What's more, my notes for task 1 example in your video is as follow: -, eyes and back, waste time.

Hi, thank you for your useful and unique tips! I want to ask, I have a to-do-list transparent board which when writing something, it can be erased again. However, there's a permanent print mark on the board like bulletin symbols, 'to-do-list' and 'monday tuesday etc'. Can this still be used for taking notes? I mean, I hope those writings are not counted as cheating writings because it's just a to-do-list board... Thank you before in advance!

If you want to improve your time management in reading check out my playlist called "TOEFL Reading" where I tell you which reading strategy you can use to be faster. Great content @juva - quick question, on the actual exam, will the question disappear when I have to start speaking or do I have to also write what the question is in order to make sure I am answering the right question?

Thank you so much Juva. I watched many of your videos today, and i think they are super useful. However i disagreed. I started with paraphrase. In my opinion kids should not have smartphones. I felt this way for two reason. First is time efficacy: many children will spend their time watching videos and giving likes to famous people on social media, and waste their time. For example my sister was super excited and clever at school, before she had a smartphone, However right now she is overusing it,and she is in retreat. Second: inappropriate content. For instance children search randomly, and they can meet unsuitable videos, or pictures, that can affect their mental health. As a result they should not have smartphones. I want feedback about the content of my answer, and thank you so much.

Hi, Juva many thanks for your effort I have a question, generally in the speaking section, should I paraphrase everything, or is it allowed to use the same words in the lecture and passage? please, guys, give me an answer my exam will be in 3 days
@juva
@juva Жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you like it 😀. You should try to paraphrase whenever it's possible. However, you should only paraphrase words that can be paraphrased, for example, a school is a school, so don't try to find a synonym for that.

TOEFL Speaking is challenging, but don't worry, you can do it! For example, in Task 1, just write down the first ideas you have. They don't have to be extraordinary. The TOEFL examiners just want to see whether you can give an answer in English.
