I must be the only person in the world who doesn't know what it means to get signed. Like, it supposed to be good right? A lot of rappers Want a record deal, but most people saying like it's a bad thing.. what do you mean stay free?
@psychs77507 жыл бұрын
StillHdz17 he has to stay unsigned the material he produces is just amazing like imagine if he had signed and they turned exception into some corny pop song I wouldn't be feeling his stuff as much especially because exception is how I found out about him

Lyrics: [Intro] Yeah New Problems [Verse 1] One I met this chick in Idaho after a show I did with Hopsin Took her back to the hotel, oh my God it was awesome First time I spent the night with a lady so gorgeous Thought I was in love with her when I woke up to her that morning We just clicked I wanted to take her on the rest of the tour, she was down with it My manager told me let time pass, wait So I ended up flying her out for the five last dates It was better than before Never would have thought I'd be with a random girl that I met with on the job Couldn't tell if I was falling for her or tripping because of her Shit, I got comfortable on them comforters We were basically dating for the week She flew back home, I flew back home, I made it in one piece But she was falling apart, texting me every moment Telling me she's sick of home, I was just homesick 'cause when I got home I felt like I was kind of over it I stopped hitting her up; she started noticing I was never the it, didn't realize how deep I was in Till she sent me snapchats of cuts deep in her skin Some suicidal shit Telling me that I'm supposed to be with you so if we're not together there is no reason why I should live Now I'm under the table texting her subtly Praying that this chick don't kill herself because of me [Hook] New problems New problems Don't tell my momma 'bout all these new problems New problems [Verse 2] Two This bitch ass snake is tryna sign me When I met him few years ago he was that guy to me He knew all my favorite rappers personally It blew my mind when he said he wanted to work with me And before I could even digest what he said to me He literally already had people calling who said they want to invest in me Damn, thought I was in a dream First time homies with somebody in the industry Thought I was 'bout to blow up; I was overwhelmed Thinking to myself, is it really supposed to go this well? So before I made a move I told him before I agree to anything, prove to me what you can do He set up a video shoot, it was a nightmare He put money behind it but didn't care about my ideas Arguing over the creative direction I said fuck it, I ain't doing this, I scrapped the whole session Then I made the song Exception Thinking I know this one is powerful, he's gotta love it, I gotta send it He said he liked it but he wants to edit So he got a new beat, corny hook and turned it to a pop record This dude's tripping Acting like a baller but now I know that he's not 'cause he's treating me like a dollar Just another check off his checklist, check to deposit Now demanding 20 percent for the work he put on this He ain't did shit Subliminally hinting to me he gon' blackball me if he don't get shit He know everybody in the game; they're gonna believe him more too I want to tell him suck a dick, but I can't afford to [Hook] New problems New problems Please don't tell my momma 'bout all these new problems New problems [Verse 3] Three Got a couple bucks now so I'm skeptical 'bout where I put my time, I'm busy all the time and I feel terrible 'cause I've been slipping up Spending all this time with fake friends I got family members I ain't hitting up But I don't want to hear anyone judging my choices If they don't know what it feels like to go from completely avoided To somebody that everybody is talking about It don't even feel the same when I walk in my house New rumors 'bout me every single day Like he don't want to chill with us, he rather chill with Sway He think he's better than us He think he's moving on I go out, pretend to be social, just to prove them wrong But I ain't see my dad in a month I only see him for dinner; we're still acting like that's good enough But I've been blowing him off like I'm busy and stuff To the point it don't feel the same when he's picking me up You know when you're comfortable enough with someone that you could be in complete silence and it wouldn't be awkward? Well, it's awkward between us, I'm bothered So I ask stupid questions just to keep him talking Like how is your job? How is your mom? How did I get here from writing these songs? I go to my homies' houses and I'm jealous of them 'Cause they see their dad as a dad, I see my dad as an old friend I bet he's afraid to bring it up 'Cause he can see I'm under pressure even though I act like I don't give a fuck Acting like I'm ready for this Acting like I'm cooler Acting like I'm not afraid of the future and all my new problems

Doesn't feel to me like a dad either, but rather as an old friend who i kinda 'have' to see some time. Small talk here, small talk there, just to keep each other talking. Being so close related to each other but yet i feel like a stranger who visits him and his family when feeling bad for not seeing them for weeks. Awesome song Token, greetings from Germany.

You don't need record labels. They sign you to confine you and keep real music like this from the world. Once you sign they pull you back from saying such messages as you are saying. The world is changing and the industry labels will fail soon because people are waking up to what real music is. I respect your work. Wish I could collab with you but I feel that is too much to ask.
@TannerHinzeFitness3 жыл бұрын
labels were really only a thing because back in the day they had to advertise word of mouth and labels were able to reach the masses they're an outdated idea and they know it that's why they cling to power. Those who cant let go simply are just afraid of falling

Telling me that I'm supposed to be with you so if we're not together there is no reason why I should live. Now I'm under the table texting her subtly praying that this chick don't kill herself because of me. New problems. New problems Don't tell my momma 'bout all these new problems. New problems. Two. This bitch ass snake is tryna sign me. When I met him few years ago he was that guy to me. He knew all my favorite rappers personally. It blew my mind when he said he wanted to work with me. He know everybody in the game; they're gonna believe him more too. I want to tell him suck a dick, but I can't afford to. New problems. New problems. Please don't tell my momma 'bout all these new problems. New problems. Three. Got a couple bucks now so I'm skeptical 'bout where I put my time, I'm busy all the time and I feel terrible 'cause I've been slipping up. Spending all this time with fake friends I got family members I ain't hitting up. But I don't want to hear anyone judging my choices if they don't know what it feels like to go from completely avoided to somebody that everybody is talking about. Cancer Cop no when he tries to exit the elevator, it signifies him trying to get out of the situation hes in ,but the guy that hands him money is like someone saying stfu and do your job. with him needing the money, he sits back down and starts the next verse. so, whenever he tries to get out( sponsor ...jk) he is paid to sit back down and deal with it. It could be considered a room full of new problems.(pun) But still u could still be right.

This is the first song where you speak to the audience as if they're equals, and not like they're maggots or in need of advice. I respect you using rap as an escape from your true self, and at the same time, you need more songs like this.
@hellspawnhoodlum13637 жыл бұрын
CK_85 I guess this must be the 1st song you've heard then. I can name at least 3 more where he's directly talking/apologizing to the fans. go buy the album. support the underground and educate yourself.
@minecraftion255657 жыл бұрын
I bought Eraser Shavings and I've listened it to a few dozen times. I love him, though I don't like his narcissism, even if he has the talent to back it up. Don't tell me to "educate myself" and "support the underground" when you don't know me at all
@minecraftion255657 жыл бұрын
First, I have listened to it all the way through a few dozen times. Second, you do not need to be so confrontational and angry, as it does not make your point any stronger, rather it makes you sound more ignorant ("The ignorant mind, with its infinite afflictions, passions, and evils, is rooted in three poisons. Greed, anger, and delusion." -Bodhidharma). Finally, I readily admit when I'm wrong, and upon another listen to those songs with a new intention, you are correct. When I wrote the comment, I did not recall those songs, perhaps because that the recommended songs in the sidebar were the ones that were filling my mind. I still stand by my opinion that he needs more songs of this caliber.
@hellspawnhoodlum13637 жыл бұрын
CK_85 I don't need a sermon. and if you knew the album you'd know the songs instead of just the "hits". know the music. here's your L for the day Listen with your ears and not your mouth.
@minecraftion255657 жыл бұрын
I have said this two times, but now I must resort to telling you in a way that you might actually understand: *I have listened to every fucking song in that album several dozen times. Every fucking song* I must also add that my memory is not perfect, and I am not going to go through Token's entire anthology in my mind before writing a comment on a KZbin video. Also, no, I did not take an "L". I was reminded about the songs in his collection after writing a comment that neglected them. In short, fuck off.

Stay independent. Going commercial means you have little to no freedom and creative control because they want to change your music just to have that commercial sound. I plan on staying independent without a doubt.

Hey Idk if you’re ever gonna see this but I want you to know that your music is literally saving my life. I don’t usually listen to rap but I’ve literally never connected more with anybody else’s music than yours. It’s just so fucking genuine and it’s helping me deal with shit that most people fifty years older than me have never dealt with. As a thirteen-time attempt survivor (and just so everyone knows that sounds just as crazy to me as it does to you), there have been moments where I was literally in the bathroom with a bottle of pills in my hand and the only reason why I didn’t swallow the whole thing is because I decided to pull out my phone and listen to your music. My guess is that you’ll never see this but I hope you know that what you do saves lives because I have literally never heard any artist more real than you.

Hopsin is lame. If you heard Underground Hitz, that's what happens when you put a Great rapper with an okay rapper. Don't get me wrong, Hopsin was good, but he fell off after RAW and still continues to plummet today. In the meantime, Token produced a silent classic last year and with Doozy and this, has cemented himself a little more.

y'all notice how after each verse he attempts to leave the elevator, but there's always someone offering him more money?? maybe that could be a reason why he's still rapping-because of the money.
@mati28587 жыл бұрын
Trevor Sullivan Not exactly rapping for money. It's a reference to "More Money More Problems", with social (personal), economic and reality problems related to fame and contracts. It's has an awesome video. An elevator going up (his career and life advancing) but stopping everytime something fucked up happens to him. He tries to leave that condition, but the industry keeps giving him more and more money and trying to keep him on that same pace, generating him to have more and more problems. so... at the end, everything is symbolized with the rain of money... "i'm fucked up but with money raining on my head". Clearly the best hip hop artist of our generation together with hopsin, NF, Marty and some others.

Token's music videos are always so good! On his journey to the top he faces many problems and the only thing keeps him in the elevator (the journey) when he tries to get out is the money, which is also indirectly, his fans.
