I think the clutch switch is superior than a AF switch,you can find it so easy over the switch.

Can I use this for portraits during a ceremony? Someone said It might be slow.
@cashino5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, It's not slow I've used it and events. It also has a focus limiter switch. So you don't have to hunt through the full range 0 - 100 to achieve focus. In summary, it's not the fasted lens at focusing and but also not slowest. It's never been a problem for me at events.😎

Great review, will this len work on nikon d5600?
@cashino4 жыл бұрын
With your body no built-in auto focus (AF) motor so it will not a good match for your camera. Thanks for the comment.

Q: Between this one and the 105 DC nikon for studio portraits? What should i get? ( sharpness )
@cashino5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I have never used the Nikon one so unable to comment. All I can confirm is the quality of the Tokina is A++ very sharp at f5.6 or f4.0. As for studio portrait use if space is not an issue all good If you have a small studio then a 50mm or e.g 17-55mm lens will be more suitable for indoor use.

Is there an option for manual aperture on the Canon mount? Doesn't look like it from what I could see, but would love to know as I'm probably going to get a dumb adapter for it, of course unless it doesn't have manual aperture. Thanks
@cashino6 жыл бұрын
Thank you, the Canon mount does not have a manual aperture ring. Still a very good lens.

Great review! Do you know if there's any difference between the Nikon, Canon, and Minolta version? I'm interested in the Minolta version.
@cashino5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, unfortunately, I have no knowledge of the Minolta version. I tested the Canon version and I've I know of people who have the Nikon version too. Hopefully, someone will review the Minolta version.

Should I order a polarizing filter with the tokina 100mm?
@cashino6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I've never used a polarizing filter on mine. Shot at high noon (harsh sunlight) and still no need for one with this lens in my opinion. A nice to have but not essential.
@HAL.90006 жыл бұрын
cashino Thanks for the quick advice, dude! I consider buying the tokina, but with a polarizing filter it’s just beyond my budget, So I wanted to know if it’s really needed. I always use one on my 18-55mm kit lens, but that’s because i often use it for shooting landscapes and stuff with clouds and water.
@cashino6 жыл бұрын
Polarizing filter not needed, most people just put a UV filter on for protection. These days I put nothing in between but always very careful with the lens. If the Tokina is out of reach price wise another to consider is the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM, glass not as superior as Tokina's but on a budget It's ok so far not expecting performance in low light situations. I used it in my video dated - 23 Apr 2018.

hope so, i think i will full-fill my expectation with this lens.
@cashino6 жыл бұрын
Yes that will be my next step: getting a full frame body to be exact 6D, I think I've done all i can with APS-C bodies 60d and 70d so for images full frame is the way to go and will just use the APS-c for video work~

This is my fave macro lens .Everyone thinks sharpness it the only game in town .But to be honest I've had them all from zeiss to nikon sigma 150os iris 150 .but none can match the micro contrast of the toke(my pet name for the 100M)
