I encourage who hasn't already seen the documentary One Metal Man should give it a watch. It's about Leviathan, Xasthur and Striborg's life! It gives you an perspective on just how sad this music really is

Este tema lo escucho cuando caigo en ese momento de soledad, cuando te sientes tan solo y que no hay solución ni vuelta atrás. Es tan oscuro y tranquilizante.

Xasthur's vocals can be grating, although I think that's on purpose, but it's easy to immerse yourself in the atmosphere created. Check out Xasthur's cover of "The Cold Earth Slept Below". As for other bands, I recommend Lurker of Chalice, Antagonic Omnipotent Catharsis, Blut Aus Nord, Ash Borer, and there were a lot of other good recommendations down in the comments section.

Well, it's not like Wrest usually doesn't sound like a tortured pig (and I mean that as a compliment), but it never bothered me with Xasthur or Leviathan, it just fits like a glove. And that recording of Malefic screaming his lungs out with Nachtmystium live is absolutely fantastic.

Anyone figured out the lyrics? This here song is like the anthem of my life. This is as far as I've come: (I?) we fall into nothing and she isn't there. another experiment another obsession, another piece. is it in place? blood collection, cuts for the sake of time, their eyes find me. again behind the black glass, another experiment another obsession, another piece. is it in place? blood collection, cutting me for the sake of shame, she begins another act. vomiting a certain tone, we aren't falling, again. the willing fool, and the probe(?)

psychedelic is actually pretty good in comparison to other kinds of music out there and its my second favorite after metal . Its structure and complexity kinda reminds me of technical metal stuff which i love. The other reason why its my 2nd favorite music is cause it sounds totally different when u are on any kind of drugs or weed and when u are sober. Its a music designed for that kind of experiences and its propably the best music when u want to see and hear everything different than normal :)

Jef Whitehead played in punk as well as math rock bands in his earlier days which gave him a wider creative outlook than someone who would just start with black metal only, hence why his music sounds unique because its a culmination of how he plays different genres appropiated into Black Metal. Your capability to write and create strengthens heavily if you explore multiple ways of doing so
