Tokorangi || Whakerewarewa Forest, Rotorua [Ep#89]

Only ridden once, before I started this channel, I remembered that it was pretty cool. A bit of a climb to get to it - I'd recommend via Tokorangi Pa Rd - and there's a small incline at the beginning of the trail but the descent through the native forest is magic.
Towards the end is a small gap jump which should be easy for most or a good start for those beginning to get past the psychological barrier of gaps. After the jump the trail turns into Turkish Delight until it reaches the forestry road - two trails for the climb of one!

Mean ride mate. Not to far from Hams, have to add to the bucket list next time I'm in Rotoas. If your Hamilton any time in the future try out the Pirongia MTB park, they got some nice tracks to try out.

How to get here from the Waipa Car park?

A couple of ways - first go past toilet block and up Pohaturoa Rd then left on to Nursery Rd until you reach the signboard. Then you could go right up Katore Rd which is a hefty climb or, as I would do, head up Tokorangi Pa Rd where there's a new up trail just built and is easier and more scenic. Trailforks app on the phone or the website is the best way to find trails

How do you find this trail? Sorry I’m probably being thick but is it near corridor. Again my bad I’m probably being dumb

Yes, it shares the same up trail to Corridor. Where we start the descent, the entrance to Corridor is just to the left of that.

Yup, where the start of K2 is, continue up the hill, veer left onto Forest Rd then turn right onto Katore Rd.
