I can't count all the goosebumps running down my legs! My favorite show when I was 7, I'm 57 right now. When he holds up that capsule I still lose it. I just watched the origin story which I had never seen. Thanks a million.

I'm 62 years old ,Last week at my place of work I was mixing some old paint to see if was still any good to use and a co worker close to my age looked at it as the colors were swirling around and said That looks like the opening scene of Ultraman, and we started laughing a younger co worker walking by asked What was so funny and after explaining to him, asked who is Ultra man ?

This is the FIRST EPISODE (Producion wise) Does anyone realize most characters got a slightly different personality in this episode? As if this episode was a stand alone short movie. Hayata clearly did not laugh or joke that much in other episodes. Idi is the star of this episode (or the whole series) as always, but in this episode his personality is much more obvious than other episodes. Also Fuji got to say the name of the Spcium Beam via discussion with the Captain, as if it was the pilot episode (production wise, it is). Arashi is more goofy than normal too, not counting the comedy episodes.

Being four years old in 1974 and watching him fall off the edge of the building to grab the beta capsule and become Ultraman I jumped out of my chair. Now in 2023 at age 53😂 I still jump out of my chair during that scene. Wonderful memories

Only 39 episodes with the last episode called Farewell, Ultraman! In this final episode of the Ultraman television series, a fiendish alien race, the Z-Ton Aliens, plots to conquer Earth. While plotting to cripple the Science Patrol Headquarters, they dispatch their giant insect-like monster, Z-Ton, to destroy it from the outside. After the Science Patrol destroy the Z-Ton fleet, Ultraman intervenes, but the monster proves to be more than a match for him! Will Ultraman, or the Science Patrol, be able to destroy Z-Ton? If Ultraman fails, what will happen next . . .

The version that came out in 72' was a US dubbed version? I remember watching Ultraman religiously when I was young. I think it came on at 3:30 in the afternoon and school let out at 3:00pm

Yes. It was dubbed in Filipino and was followed by Ultraman Ace. Ultraseven aired in the 1970's but was a victim of the Marcos ban.

i recently started watching the Ultraman series starting with this one, and so far i'm enjoying it. even my cousin was interested in watching the series. now if we only get more of the Super Sentai series to go with Ultraman, then we be even more happy.
