‼️Tokyo Disneyland is NOTHING like Disney in USA 🙅‍♂️❌🤯

The ride technology is so far advanced in Japan and it absolutely blew my mind! Between the food, character interactions, shows & overall cleanliness… I couldn’t believe the massive cultural differences between the two parks 😳 Don’t get me wrong, the USA parks will always be my home. But some things are hard to ignore!

Universal Osaka was the same. I took my kids to Universal Orlando back in 2019 and it was like a budget airline where you had to pay for everything. I was surprised the toilets were free. We went to Japan last summer and my kids wanted to see Nintendo World in Osaka. Not only was it included in the very reasonable entry fee (about $80 CDN) but there were water fountains in the longer lines so you could refill your bottles for free and I can't think of a single attraction you had to pay extra to see.

When I rode the Winnie the Pooh ride in Tokyo Disneyland, i was laughing like a child again. I don’t get that in California…. Disney is cutting costs rapidly, but the Japanese parks aren’t completely owned by Disney so they make their own decisions.👍 Also I’m pretty sure the Japanese parks are managed by something called “the Oriental land company”. Not sure though, it’s been a while since I’ve watched Defunctland.

I was at Tokyo Disneyland 24 years ago. Can’t believe it has been that long ago. If I remember right, there were 2 ticket prices. One for if you just wanted to eat and shop and the other one if you wanted to do the rides. They gave you a lanyard to put your ticket in and a cast member would check your ticket before you got on the ride.

To be honest, most of the rides shown have the same tech as Disney world. The baymax is the alien spinner, the beauty and the beast thing is the old mirror trick that they used for the haunted mansion(if you don’t know about that, look it up, it’s cool), the food looks unique and pretty good but the alien mochi is at Disney world I think(may be wrong). It’s a cool looking park and I’m excited to go one day.

The special effect is easy, it’s a high quality (possibly transparent) screen and an edited recording of the animatronic used. The video is timed with the animatronic and the screen becomes opaque during the transformation, making it look like the animatronic disappeared when in fact it’s just an overlaid animation.

What if I told you 80% of all KZbin videos related to Japan are very positively exaggerated in some way, because people are obsessed with Japan? I live in Japan and I’ve been to Tokyo Disney. It’s good and fun, but it’s mostly the same as Disney World’s magic kingdom in Florida. People are completely allowed to like things. I’m not a hater. But INSTEAD, people should be talking about Disney Sea in Japan. It’s way more interesting and completely different than America’s Disney. They rides like journey to the center of the earth and 20,000 leagues under the sea. Those were mind blowing and the most insane theme park rides I’ve ever seen
