Tokyo Halloween Costume Street Party 2016

Halloween 2016 is a big three day street party in Japan! Costumes and fun on the streets of Shibuya on day one of Tokyo Halloween.
Tokyo Fashion has been covering the Shibuya Halloween Street Party in Japan for years, but 2016 is bigger than ever! This is the first year that the Tokyo government has closed the streets around Shibuya Station to cars, allowing the massive Halloween costume party to fill the streets with people.
Saturday October 29th was the first of three days of Halloween party fun on the streets of Shibuya. Enjoy this video and check back tomorrow for a video from day two - and of course we'll also post a video from Halloween night.

A swastika actually means something totally different in Japan, Rachel and Jun have a super interesting video about it!

Ruby-Lou is right that the "swastika" has a different meaning generally in Japan, but that isn't what it it is here. Their outfits say "We are Raelians," and the swastika surrounded by the star of david is the symbol of this "UFO Religion." The swastika is held to be a symbol of peace to Raelians. You can look up "Raelism" online for more information on it.
