With over 13 million people, Tokyo is one of the most populous cities in the world. It's also known for it's world-class public transport system. Trains rule the day, but automobiles still have their place. And now you've been tasked with building the infrastructure to accommodate them. It's up to you to build the Tokyo Highway.

1:28 the road your placing a car on already has a road going underneath it. No car placement!

Seems like The Climbers are ought to show up next :D They have a touch of dexterity with plenty of strategic depth (according to reviews I have seen). Also it is from Capstone, as well as Lignum and Ruhr.

Yes, that one looks pretty neat. I'm not too familiar with it. I wonder how much of a dexterity game it is as opposed to a strategy game with nice, chunky pieces.

From what I saw in Climbers: 97% strategy, 3% dexterity when it gets to mid-late game - the dexterity element there develops mostly thanks to the nature of how the blocks are stacked. Capstone should get Climbers in stock in 3 days, I would suggest to check Heavy Cardboard playthrough and ping Capstone about a review copy :)

I saw photos of this game when it was first released. Never had any idea how it played. Great video! Looks like it can be a fun coffeehouse game. How big is the box? It's hard to tell from the pictures and video.

+Chris Hayashida That's probably the perfect setting for this game. The box is pretty small. A little longer than a popsicle stick, about 4 inches wide and about 2 inches deep

Just saw the four-player version in the store this past weekend. Have you gotten the chance to play? I don't know how it's different than the two-player game. Looks like it has some buildings that you set up as obstacles or something.

I haven't. I don't think I'll be picking that one up. I think the problems I had with the game would be amplified with having more hands to knock things over.

OMG! this looks so fun - why is it so hard (/expensive) to acquire?!

It's made by a small Japanese publisher. I picked up a copy when I was on vacation.

I found them. They are currently out of stock. In fact, BGG just got some in stock a few days ago and they are already sold out as well.

To be fair, once you know how it works and what's involved, you could basically create your own version easily - it's hardly complicated. Pillars - A few 2p coins taped together (or USD Quarters are around a similar size I think). For the yellow ones, just put some sort of mark on the top of the thin ribbon of tape that goes around them with a pen Highways - Ice lolly sticks (popsicle sticks in the US) Cars - Whatever the hell you like: Rectangles off a chocolate bar, other coins (5p or Dimes or both - discover which country has the better road system via playing :P), Monopoly houses/hotels, Monopoly PIECES, Chess pawns, Chequers/Draughts Pieces etc. Pretty much anything that has two different potential variations would do. It's not a particularly sophisticated game, and you could easily put together your own version.

at 2:28 why does that blue road go from 3 pillars to 4+1(yellow)? Why not just use 4 gray or 3 gray +1 yellow?

You knock it over, you lose. Sounds a little like you're getting salty over basic Jenga rules. ;)
