I think it's simply because they like it. The melody actually serves as a departure signal - after this the doors are going to close -> passengers should take the next train. In fact almost all subway systems in the world use departure signals, but imho most of them are really annoying, so that I prefer those more amusing melodies.

Fun fact stations play different jingles depending on the area. In akihabara, they played akb48 as Akiba is the birthplace of the idol group. It depends on where you are.

Am I the only one who calls Meiji-jingumae Harajuku? Harajuku seems a lot more closely related to Shinjuku and I prefer saying the 'juku' instead of 'mae'

oh stimmt, dann werds ich jetzt mal etwas ausführlicher schreiben, dürften ja somit 10 verschiedene Zugtypen von fünf Bahngeselschaften auf dieser Strecke sein :D
