I wanted to make it clear that this is not the original audio for this clip. I took pieces of the official soundtrack and edited them together in an attempt to reconstruct the score as arranged in this deleted scene. The entire scene used bits of music from other parts of the film, which suggests that there was never an official track produced for this version of the scene. I wanted to make it clear that this is not the official deleted scene, which some of you probably already know. It has also been slightly edited in places, as at the time I uploaded this, I was tinkering with editing and experimenting with what I could do.

Okay so I guess I just have to point this out. Everyone keeps on saying that this scene proves that it wasn’t Mater’s fault McQueen lost the race because the final shot of the finish line is used. This sequence doesn’t showcase the entire race. I stuck that shot in just to wrap up the video in a satisfying way, the actual ending would have been Grem and Acer blowing up Miguel’s engine. Also for those who are asking for the extended versions of the other races; As of now, no extra footage from those scenes have been released to the public. So I can’t make them. All footage in this video, (minus the last shot) was taken from the bonus disc released in the 3D Blu Ray set from 2011. The music is from the FYC soundtrack for the movie. I might upload this scene with the original audio intact but I don’t know if I will yet because I don’t want to get flagged for copyright.

I noticed that way back when I first saw this version. Upon closer inspection I realized it was probably animated to be used later in the race (after the first lap), since if you look at the scene where Rip’s engine explodes, he and Francesco are in the exact same positions as shown in the scene addressed in your comment. The shot in question was probably just spliced in to fill up a gap in the footage or something.

You have to admit Francesco was already supposed to win this race, especially with all the different lengthy straights and quick turns. Francesco basically had the whole track as an advantage besides one dirt section. (Also has the whole rest of the track to make up any ground (this is probably tmi but he also had the highest top speed , Francesco-220 vs McQueen-200 so it was obvious he would pass cars and catch up on that long straight on the bridge)

I get what you’re saying, but here’s my argument: So we can all notice Lightning McQueen is supposed to be the main featured character and protagonist of the film, right? Let’s describe Mater in Cars. Mater’s a side character used as a comic relief who wouldn’t appear so often. Go back to Cars 2 with the film replacing the main character with Mater. Thanks to this, Mater’s personality and sense of humor just falls and relies on jokes that would make older parents laugh. I can tell more flaws on Cars 2, though.

FOR ALL PEOPLE IN COMMENTS WONDERING HOW MCQUEEN CAN EASILY BEAT AN F1 CAR BUT NOT JACKSON STORM, READ: if youd listen to the engine sounds here in cars 2 and in cars 1 and 3, youd hear that cars 1 and 3 sound the same generic nas car engine sound where as here. he sounds more like a tuner car. meaning, they could have tuned him, engine swapped him or smth to compete with the allinol races. because these track races have a specification thats needed to be met in order to be classed (A class, B class, S class etc) and so do nascars which is probably more tuned down since most nascars only have 4 gears. here, he probably had like 7 or 6. so in conclusion, hes at his full potential here, being in his prime and having his car tuned up to compete with the other races (same could go for Francesco), where as in cars 3, hes older and has been tuned down. edit: he also has been lowered and has his spoiler switched for a wing, creating A LOT more drag/downforce EDIT 2: also, F1 cars cant drive good on dirt

To be fair. This Cars 2 McQueen is his peak. He had to have gotten some upgrades for the WGP and he is highly skilled and healthy at this point. If Cars 2 McQueen were racing Storm and the next gens, McQueen would win. It's just that for nascar his WGP upgrades would most likely be against regulations.
