what an interesting design! I especially like the very high ceilings, that can help a small space to feel bigger. I am glad it was a comfortable stay for you!

I like how the common area, toilet, and shower are all in the same area.
I honestly love the unfinished feel. Reminds me of many DIY projects I built with my dad when I was a kid.

As an American with literally no Japanese language skills, it's a relief to know that there is so much English available, and it's all automated, so I don't have to look stupid in front of a real person

They were inexpensive because they were minimal in decor. But looked like a nice place to go to.
What a fascinating hotel! The room design was very different but I actually think I'd be happier with the lower ceilings! 😮❤

is OSB board and 2x4 pine lumber considered to be exotic in Japan? Is that the idea of the theme? Also the exposed romex wiring for the light. This is like a crazy theme inspired by a visit to a house construction site in Canada.
@ameliaaa372310 ай бұрын
had the same throught.... didnt seem exotic, more like In-construction
@SUKIYAKITravelАй бұрын
Thank you for your comment! 😊 The interior definitely has a unique theme. OSB boards and 2x4 lumber might feel a bit unconventional in Japan, but perhaps that’s part of the design’s charm-giving a raw, industrial vibe. The exposed wiring adds to that construction-site aesthetic, which could indeed be inspired by overseas influences. It’s fascinating to see how different styles come together!

Does the room still have the wood particle board smell ? Just curious. This looks beat with the high ceilings
@zemastor3650 Жыл бұрын
I was going to ask the same thing. Looking at this, I can just smell the unfinished wood/particle board! If they sealed it, then why wouldn't they just paint it? if it's unsealed, it will get dirty quickly, and any spills and stains would just soak in. I thought it was weird to see such a clash between modern conveniences and unfinished wood. It's not like "rustic log cabin" either. It just gives the appearance of "too cheap to buy a few gallons of paint". Pass.
@indianagirl00 Жыл бұрын
@Ze Mastor I was surprised no one had commented about it. Just watching the video, I could smell the particle board smell. LOL
@zemastor3650 Жыл бұрын
@@indianagirl00 Yeah, people are even commenting about staying there! To inhale wood dust particles and smells for 7-8 hours while sleeping! I'd only consider that lodging acceptable during a disaster. Earthquake, flood, tsunami makes large areas uninhabitable, so shelters made of pressboard, MDF and raw plywood get slapped up overnight just so people aren't sleeping in the mud and open air. But going to this place on vacay? No!
@BHStudios01 Жыл бұрын
Was thinking this as well. Plus SPLINTERS, because that stuff does chip.
@zemastor3650 Жыл бұрын
@@BHStudios01 Yeah, it's awful to think of your face right up against unfinished chip board like that. And splinters falling all over your clothes and stuff. Why???? Here so many capsule hotels really are ultra-modern, like spaceships! And this has "hastily built refugee camp" written all over it!

I wouldn't mind staying a couple nights. Capsule hotels are the best things the Japanese ever invented. The biggest cost of traveling is lodging.

3:35 How does the Japanese lawmaker justify that strange idea a room cannot be locked?
@SUKIYAKITravel9 ай бұрын
These hotels are not supposed to be locked by law so that they can be evacuated quickly due to space issues if something goes wrong. It is in the category of simple accommodation, which means that the business can operate in a small space, although it does not meet the requirements of a hotel instead.

Le masque est obligatoire au Japon???
@SUKIYAKITravelАй бұрын
