Hello Chris! I can't believe you read my story, thank you. To add context the Ryokan was located in Kanda, Tokyo and in the description was listed as a Ryokan, so it might've been a lie but I didn't consider that was possible, since I imagined Booking has a way to moderate that.

I know a guy who does that. I would say there's no chance in hell Chris could do it. You need to be a gymnast for half the stuff and have the arm strength to hold your body weight up. Maybe Pete could do it, but even Pettas Sifu doesn't have a gymnast's body and would have to lose a lot of weight (losing muscle in his case). Play to your strengths.

My partner got me your book for my birthday this week (it is available in Australia). She said she read some of it and gave faint praise that it appeared to be well written. As she has PhD in History and also worked as a professional editor this was very understated approval.

I just finished your "Abroad in Japan" book and really enjoyed it. I grew up in Japan on a military base until heading off to college, so your book brought back a lot of fond memories of living and traveling in Japan but from a true "Gaijin" perspective. Keep up the work and looking forward to your next book should you decide to publish.

Francis Ford Coppola did whatever he wanted with this new film because he paid for it all himself, so he didn’t have any production companies or shareholders to worry about. He had a vision and made it real, and I think that’s part of his genius.

I’ve visited a lot of sake breweries in Japan and they’re definitely not all the same. You should check out some of the breweries like miyoshino shuzo in Nara or terada honke in Chiba to see how young brewers at old breweries are reinvigorating the industry. They both offer tours during brewing season. Alongside that, sake is growing quite a bit internationally. Besides the export market growth, breweries are being started all over the world. In the UK there’s at least two (dojima and kanpai). In the US where I live there’s at least a dozen. My wife runs a sake bar and shop and focuses primarily on education that’s also been slowly but steadily growing and we see a lot of passionate sake drinkers come through.
