Sam (from the alternate universe) mentioned something about his father being a cop. Also the way MDNurseDr. said it, Blart and him don't seem related in this timeline. I'm actually guessing it's Sam and Grian who are related, since Stanley (Sam's dad) and Paul may have switched, then Invader and Grian (I'm actually not sure on this part) switched too I bet. Not really sure, but it would be awesome to see Sam's dad again, and as a cop!
