Thank you for clearing a few points for me. I will be visiting in March/ April next year and my biggest fear was this station to get through. I was told to buy the food before reserving my Shinkansan ticket to Kyoto. What is your suggestions on this? Much appreciated

Thank you for your message! Navigating Tokyo Station can indeed feel overwhelming, but with some preparation, it becomes much more manageable. It sounds like you’ve been advised to buy food before reserving your Shinkansen ticket to Kyoto. You can purchase food "Bento Box" in many locations - even on the platform. In other words, when you buy food would not be that important. If I know how you’re arriving at Tokyo Station and what you plan to do there, I can offer more tailored advice. Are you planning to buy your Shinkansen ticket at Tokyo Station, or will you already have a JR Pass? Once I know your plan, I can share my recommendations for getting food and reserving tickets smoothly. Looking forward to hearing from you!

@@Mamejiten01 we will be arriving in Narita around 3pm. I am thinking eating on the Shinkansan on the way to Kyoto. Also still trying to figure out the Kyoto station to our hotel. I think their might be an underground passageway to it.

@@joseemilroy5109 That’s great to hear you’ll be arriving around 3 PM! Eating on the Shinkansen is a great way to save time and enjoy the scenery. As for getting from Kyoto Station to your hotel, I cannot help as I am not very familiar with the station. Meanwhile, consider using the luggage forwarding service (Ta-Q-bin) if carrying a lot. You can have your bags sent directly to your hotel from the airport, saving you the trouble of carrying them around. Check it out in detail on their webpage - it is surprisingly affordable.

@joseemilroy5109 : Base on what you said about your Kyoto's hotel location, I assume it will be Daiwa Roynet Kyoto Ekimae Premier. If it' correct, for the first time I think you better walk from Kyoto station central exit to the hotel, it will be easier to navigate and after that you can walk back to the station using the underground passage

hi.. where can we buy inscribed suica in tokyo station?
@Mamejiten01Ай бұрын
At Tokyo Station, you can purchase a Suica card at the JR East Travel Service Center (also known as "Midori-no-Madoguchi"). Alternatively, you can add a digital Suica card to your smartphone via Google Pay or Apple Wallet. This digital option offers the convenience of managing your Suica directly from your device.
