Growing up I wished to enjoy travelling. In 2014 I had the worst experience in Sicily and it put me off travelling due to harressment bullying and racism from the get go.. As soon as I landed at the airport! It always makes me glad when I see Muslims travelling and having fun, we deserve to be treated like equals.

Hey brother, I have a question, how do you know that these restaurants and also the street food is halal?
@halaltrips
@halaltrips 2 жыл бұрын
AssalamuAlykum Brother, for each stall/ restaurant, I ask them directly if any of the foods contain any type of alcohol or meat. Easier when it’s a restaurant, at street food stalls, I take a local colleague with me - I have a video specifically on street coming soon insha’Allah!

@@halaltrips Assalamoalaikum Brother. Brother are you serious? No offense please. Asking does not make this food halal. Cross contamination is the biggest problem while eating from non muslim cooking place. Pork fats, oils, gelatin, frying process, alcohol, pork essence and pork based ingredients are all hidden elements of these places. Asians or non muslims are famous for adding pig or pork gelatin or pig lard in their bakery products including cakes, crepe, croissant, muffins, whipping cream, ice cream and so on…its painful but a KNOWN TRUTH! Utensils, haram ingredients and pork processing equipment cross contamination and there is so much more to it. So we can not call a restaurant or food halal on the basis of our own judgement. The best thing is to not eat from these non muslim places. I have seen your other vlogs where you are eating from places where Halal logo or sign is displayed or mentioned. Those places are the only places or safest places to eat from. I live in china and we only eat from places owned by muslims or places advertising them as halal eateries. But for safe side we still make sure and ask them if they are really halal or not. One time we found a chinese xinjiang muslim selling pork based sausages in his small bbq shop. He even displayed halal sign on his shop. So in my view the rule of thumb is , first completely avoid eating from non muslims, 2nd do self investigation if the halal place is doubtful. And last but not the least😂 if we can not find halal places anywhere, then just buy some trusted brand packaged junk food or trusted place simple plain food items. Supermarket packaged food showing full ingredients and so many options are always there in countries where we have very few or next to none halal options.
@halaltrips
@halaltrips Жыл бұрын
@@DOTVGLOBAL yes I am serious but as it was a quick reply, you may have misunderstood me. I have lived and worked in China too so understand what you are saying and completely agree, it’s important to be careful of cross contamination, it’s also important to strike a middle path. We take our measures and leave the rest to Allah, you shared some great practical tips too. For me for example, I do not eat at places where cross contamination is highly likely and where I can SEE that this will happen or when the menu points me to believe that this is highly likely even if I cannot see, usually at places where things are fried. The corndog place in my video was probably the only time I have ever done this, and in reflection it’s probably best to avoid. That day, I stood there and observed their kitchen for a while and noticed that all orders were of potato corndogs and the meat ones were packed away, I also noticed that usually the filling is completely wrapped and sealed before frying so the oil doesn’t get contaminated. For me, those two observations were enough to order but probably wouldn’t do it again. Where it is unlikely (like a cake shop), I then ask like my video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJ2sh3qmg7eCbc0 where I took a local Japanese speaker to ask thoroughly whether the stalls selling the deserts contained any of the items i previously mentioned. In those places, if I cannot see that cross contamination is likely and get told with CERTAINTY from the staff that it doesn’t contain haram items, then I eat because I have tied my camel and I will not be held accountable if then the owner of the cake shop decides to add a sip of alcohol on the cake slice, so in those cases yes asking does make jt halal for me - but don’t misunderstand me, this doesn’t apply to places where cross contamination is highly likely like in restaurants in China, when I lived there, I lived very similar to how you described. And Allah knows best.
