I had a haircut like this once. I was in Santiago de Chile and I walked into a run down mall and there was a small barber shop with an old guy in it. He must have been 70. I sat down and we had a chat while he was stropping the razor. He sprayed my hair and started combing and passing the razor over my head. I really could barely tell he was cutting my hair. At the end of the 30 minutes I had one of the best haircuts of my life and I felt like I had stepped back 50 years in time. I gave him double the price.

I respect Japanese culture. They really take pride in elevating their craft to the highest level.
@jchomedog28874 ай бұрын
It’s not the highest level. It’s doing it properly. If you care, you do things right. In America, for instance, we accept laziness, entitlement, and complacency. This is why Japan will always be superior when it comes to things that require effort. You have to care if you want things done well and right. It’s a shame that what should be considered the norm culturally around the world is seen as something that is beyond reach. People need to start caring and having some self reflection. As Marco Pierre White says, “Perfection is doing many little things right.”

There are literally barbers all over the world that do this. You see a HIGHLY tempered fraction of Japanese culture in videos like this, because who the fuck is going to go and record an hour long video at a regular barbershop? Jeez, people in comment sections of these videos are so naive and have clearly never travelled the world.

I love all the different sounds. There's so much asmr in our world and only recently have we actually stopped to appreciate the sounds God made. Most of us just saunter around the world doing what ever going about our daily lives and there's music being played everywhere we look. Some is a little more annoying but if you know how to listen to it you can find harmony everywhere.
