I really think Fukui is a hidden gem. 永平寺 Eihei-ji, 東尋坊 Tôjinbô Cliffs, 一乗谷 Ichijôdani, 恐竜博物館 Dinosaurs Museum, 勝山城 Katsuyama Castle, and many more nice places to visit. And the food is really good too :)
