In the Southern African American community for new years we do Black eyed peas (represent luck) and a leafy green usually boiled cabbage (represent money) and a meat added, usually pork.

Oh your family are the best - I hope Maiko is fairing well. ( hope I spelt that correctly ). Get that Manuka Honey in your systems. I find hot water and honey with maybe some Orange Juice ( Vit C ) helps loads. For Wolfie - let it cool so as a cool juice drink
