For those wondering: “Infect” *deals* *damage* in the form of poison counters (for players) or -1/-1 counters for creatures. Damage still occurs, and triggers combat damage effects, but is ultimately converted into counters. The result in this instance is zero life loss, one poison counter accrued, and one card drawn. Judge Amy is correct in her assumption ;)
