After resisting myself from watching the Tolkien movie for ignoring the author's Catholic faith, I finally caved in. And I must admit that it's a beautiful movie that is based on true friendship, love, and the art of literature.

I can't stand these writers. I can't stand writing. Writing can be a very strong feeding frenzy for narcississm. So many great writers fell victim to their work, ended up killing themselves or neglecting their children because their book was more important than everyone who supported them. Take John Milton for example, he thought women worthless, stupid and inferior to men. He was negligient of all his daughters, he thought women couldn't write, read or publish. That's John Milton for you. He thought school was solely reserved for men. As for Tolkien, well, he lived and he died.

@@mikal1208 I don't see how you can capture another writer's essence in a movie, that's all. His legacy lives on through his work, not a movie starring Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins, and it's his books that bring about joy not the biopic that somewhat accurately portrays his personal life. As if it wasn't bad enough that we had two world wars, now we get to relive what our ancestors went through on screen.

@@salviaofficinalis02 you can, with good screen writing, good acting and good movie editing.
