I'm thinking of moving to Texas from Canada, it's just stupid expensive over here. It's to the point where, even I, as a surgeon can barely keep up with the rising costs. Absolutely insane. I already got everything setup, even got job offers from Houston Methodist Hospital and Memorial Hermann in cypress, will probably be moving to houston within the year. Although I could go purchase a home for well over $3,000,000. I just think the smarter idea would be to buy a 6000sqft or bigger home thats newly built. Even if I spend $1.2M on the home, I would still have well over $2M to innvest in some rental properties.

That's not a bad idea, and those are some excellent hospitals in my opinion. They took great care of my mom when we were battling her cancer back in the day. And that $1.2 will take you far. One of my clients is buying the Stelvio by Toll Brothers. It's a little over 5600 sq ft and they're paying around $1.5. So, your dollar will definitely stretch a little farther. It would be a pleasure teaming up with you and getting you settled in here in Houston.

Hello! Glad you like it. You're looking at about $1.2-mil for that exact home. They don't do pools, but we have a couple pool companies I could refer.

Is the backyard able to be constructed at the same time as the home, so everything is finished upon moving in?

Generally, everything that's an option with the builder will be completed at the same time as the home. Anything extra, such as pools, pergulas, etc., that's not an option, would have to be constructed after closing. 🙂
