#72 Repair of PS4 Slim No Power

In this video, I attempt to repair a PS4 slim Days of Play edition that is in a sad state. Sorry that my voice is not 100% in this one as I have been sick for a couple of weeks.

I am honestly impressed you got this mess working again! I would however expect that this console will fail in the foreseeable future - there was just too much corrosion all over the place...

See if your APU and memory rails are coming up in the brief on time. About 1V around the APU and 1.5V for the RAM I think.

@@ToltecMerc Thanks for the input! Yes, all standby voltages are what (I think) they need to be and all switched voltages I can find test points for come alive for 5 seconds before it shuts off again. The fan never twitches and that’s the only oddity I could detect so far. I suspect the console was dropped at some point (broken lower shell near the bind button) and cracked some BGA connections. But it’s just a guess. I don’t have skills nor equipment needed for a reflow of relevant chips, so this is probably as far as I can make it. 😎 Appreciate you responding!!
