Tom Chaplin: “Therapy Informed The Writing Very Profoundly”

While writing for his solo debut, Keane frontman Tom Chaplin fell on some hard times. He slipped back into his drug addiction, became a recluse, and lost all creativity. To break the downward spiral he found himself in the singer realized he needed professional help and wholeheartedly threw himself into therapy. In doing so, what would become the album The Wave began to take shape. “I was trying to rebuild the relationships that I'd ruined, in particular with my wife and daughter,” he pauses, “and with myself as well, I'd kind of destroyed that too. This informed the writing very profoundly.”

I’m glad Tom was able to recover from his addiction. He’s got one of the best voices in the music industry & it would be a real shame if he got destroyed by drugs. I’m so proud of him for cleaning himself up & fix his life. Now he even sings better than before! And ages like fine wine! Way to go Tom! We love you.. ❤
