Great trip - looking forward to the regular vlogs - we have just done the reverse after two seasons in the Baltic Having sailed across from Inverness (originally from the Clyde indeed I, with my kids swimming in the Crinan canal, met you on the tow path about three years ago). Ironically we are now, as from April, based in the Solent! Loved the Baltic - even got used to the bow as a boarding point - don't get too much alcohol into the system before trying it! Only rub is a fairly short season in practice and the fag of flying to and fro but definitely worth it! Have a great sail.

The Folly Inn.....indeed...like The Anchor across from the old Groves and Gutteridge yard/ docks in Cowes..spend a winter onboard my Rival 34 there. Into the pub for 11....don't slip on the icy dock....back by, er....2300....And then there was the Jolly Sailor up the Hamble. Thanks, Andrew

Ah ...... the Folly Inn........lovely place.......except when packed and screaming children running amok.... I wonder if they chucked screaming children in the river back then, 1971...

Ancient Mariner I know what you mean. Actually I don't recall any of that in those days. Rose coloured glasses perhaps but we'd drink and sing and a very young me would listen to the yarns. Great days to remember and, as is often said, nobody can take your memories. Fair winds Mate.
