Tom, it’s not lying to play songs that define a certain period in your life just cuz youve grown up..? and wait how many bands are actually popular and singing about high school while in high school? Btw I’m pretty sure The Rolling Stones have been performing and singing about high school and their youth since the early 60s, literally in 2020 their still performing together, Mick Jaggers almost 80! I understand where Toms coming from and I actually dont down him for starting Angels, I just down him for how he handled leaving Blink. He should never be comparing the two, in the grand scheme of things people only know of Angels because of Blink though..

He’s definitely not in this mindset as much anymore cuz he happily embraces his more silly side even more at AVA shows and often plays blink songs acoustically on occasion and just seems to be more willing to still embrace that era of his life which is probably due to been more confident and sure of who he is completely

It's a pretty versatile guitar, but it's still limited. The Dirty Fingers is a fantastic humbucker (I use one in my SG) but you definitely want a neck pickup if you want a smooth clean. The DF pickup clean sounds bright and obnoxious.

i think blink was kind of like an actor of a TV show being stuck in that role. sometimes the actor can and will never be able to supersede that role and everyone wants to see him as that. blink hit there "hotel california" era little did they know they just needed a few years break to get it together.

@StarLightFactory Crescendo is when a melody gradually increases in volume, size and power. You can hear all over AvA. Listen to the build up in the beginning in 'The Adventure' for example. I don't know where you get the impression that he's ignorant in any way. He embraces his Blink past, and you cant get mad at someone for having a broad musical taste. He is obviously happy for the limitless opportunities AvA can give him as to expand his craft., let him be happy.

i love tom to death - but you're right. This was around the time he was hooked on pain meds and acting like everything he did was some godlike creation and he was so beyond blink, etc. I'm so glad his feet are back on the ground and the original band is back together.

Hey man, don't knock it til you try it. I use a one humbucker guitar and I never find myself going "man I wish I had a neck pickup". Plus, it makes the guitar sound better when there's less magnets pulling on the strings.
