It is so interesting how different skin can be. My skin is combination normal/oily so I tried the double wear from Estee Lauder... And I hated it! The things that you and Michelle were saying about this foundation I found with that one! Lol. I got a sample of Tom Ford in the mail recently... And I love it! I hate that I love it because it's double the price!!!lol. Anyways, I truly appreciate all of you creating reviews for us. It's a lot of money to spend on something and I like to be fully informed. I like your review about this new tf soft matte foundation,my thoughts after watching this video is first of all the shade you chose is not perfect shade for you ,you should choose one step lighter so it won't oxidise that much,none of the foundation goes well for long hour so it's not necessary to justify regarding staying power. All I want to know is, is this heavy on face ? It says it has some skin benefits, and it also says it benefits the skin when we use it for long run,is it true?Will it dries the skin after removing? I absolutely adore skin friendly, vegan, clean ingredients in my foundation. I wear foundation everyday and sometimes even fall asleep with makeup out of exhaustion (I have two babies). More impressed about his (or Estee Lauder) eyeshadows I must say, the brow stuff, the shade and illuminate stuff, but most of all the eye quads, it makes me mad everytime when not everything is available here in Europe (Netherlands here), and it is forbidden to send it from the USA, don't know why. About Michele: she was the very very first one that I subscribe to about a year ago here, she draw my attention, because of the TF eye quads Risa! I love her quiet voice, her down to earth mentality, her honesty, and she reviews so many beautiful products so quickly! Hi Risa - I know Im late to this but I am testing out this Soft Matte Foundation and comparing it to the Foundation Stick from Tom Ford . Actually worn them side by side 50/50 face for the last two days. Cant see any difference between them at all. Tried it with a mattifying primer on one side, no difference - tried it with my holy grail Wayne Goss-trick doing Sisley Blurring Powder underneath the foundations (both foundations) - no difference, and I cant see any difference between this soft matte and the stick foundation at all, and cant find any way to make either of them stay more than a very few hours. They both wear off on my combo skin with oily T-sone after just 3-4 hours. Have you found any way to make this stay put, and have you compared these two foundations? Thanks :-)

I like fancy packaging along with all the extras but not when I know that I am paying more because of the container, rather than the product inside. My retinol serum has the same twist up design but because it needs to be airtight in order to maintain the potency of the actives. Wonder what active ingredients this foundation contains 🤔

Hi Risa, I know I’m two years too late on this review but I just discovered this foundation and it’s my absolute favorite. Of course it’s so expensive but I was so shocked about your review because it’s my absolute favorite! My only struggle is the shade range. I’m 5.1 but just need it a shade darker, which doesn’t exist, but I use the MAC matte primer with this and also sometimes the Laura Mercier blur primer and they both work great. Did you ever try this out again after this review? Try it with the Mac primer if you haven’t already and if you still own a fresh bottle of this. Sorry for the delay on this comment lol.

Hey Risa, I’ve been meaning to ask if you’ve tried Paula’s Choice 20% niacinamide serum? My pores and skin are incredibly smooth, I’ve noticed considerable improvement, especially after 2 weeks use. I’m actually wishing I’d invested in 2 bottles right away because I’ve just run out and realize what a difference it’s making overall. Highly recommend if you are tolerant to niacinamide. Performance must really depend on skin type, because this foundation is SO fabulous on my straight-up normal skin. I’ve been using it for many months, and it’s as good or better than all my Chanel, Sisley, Surrat and Shiseido favorites. Hmm 🤔- I obviously have too many foundations! I’d just suggest trying to get a sample before buying. For me this works much better than the TF Shade and Illuminate - go figure 🤷‍♀️

Hi Risa! Was going back through this video to see the 5.6 shade and wanted to ask if you still use the Strivectin primer? I still have this primer and I forgot how much I love it. I might need to use it tomorrow! Just curious if you still wear it! Second question- Sephora said this shade is medium neutral and Temptilia says it’s got moderately pink undertones. Shade match did me REALLY WRONG paid $150 for the shade and illuminate waited a bit to try it to late to return and ITS WAY TO LIGHT for me ERRG !! Went with my gut with the traceless stick which is a tad bit to dark but works, when I get this one I will get the inbetween shade which would be 1.5 rose and hope for the best

Hi Kathy! I will not be testing that brand. They are dishonest and shady. They have actually stolen portions of some of my past video footage(where I was talking about a completely different product!) and used it in their ads. I believe they might still be using my image illegally to promote their products- this is a brand I had never even heard of until someone told me they were using my videos- even after I sent them a cease and desist message.

I am finding that any foundation that contains HA looks terrible on my skin. All of them seem to extremely emphasize my texture and ironically make my skin feel dry. Thank you for this video. You just saved me $88 + tax. I'm going to stop shopping for new foundations my Armani Luminous Silk foundation is my holy grail. Why try to better what already works. I have oily skin, mature, with x-large pores. It leaves my skin so flawless and as my oils break thru I never look cakey or older like most foundations can do. I never expected a Luminous foundation to work for me but it really does. Wanted to see if there is a foundation that gives me same results as the Armani but in a matte finish without that awful mask like look. I have thrown in the towel, because the Armani wears so well and it's so skin like, why mess with what works.

I’ve found whenever I’ve spent north of $50 for foundation, invariably I am disappointed. When you are spending that much money for foundation, it had better deliver! My first really expensive foundation was the Ellis Faas foundation which at the time cost $90: my oily skin simply ate it up and it didn’t last for more than four hours, no matter how I prepped, primed, or powdered my skin. I couldn’t return it, so I ended up gifting it to a friend - lesson learned!

BUT I love my Stansout sponge. My theory is that instead of absorbing foundation like the usual beauty sponge it “squishes out” the foundation and spreads it. So with less product I get more coverage. I just bought my second after many months.

That's so weird, I absolutely love it! I got a sample and was so amazed that I spent the $90 on it which is crazy for me lol. It matched me perfectly and makes me look airbrushed.
