This fragrance is absolutely AMAZING! Everything said here is true: on the first sniffs, it's quite difficult to appreciate. ...but then it grows on you. The graveyard/gothic imagery is EXACTLY on point. When smelling this, you can't help but picture yourself as a dark, brooding, ancient, dusty, dignified, mysterious figure. The slight feminine note is not bothersome, especially if you like standing out. This fragrance might take some effort to wear, but oh boy does it pay off! This is basically the fragrance that an ancient gothic vampire would wear in a graveyard on a cold foggy moonlit night.

This projects 3 hours on my skin and after that it settles to my skin and I get 10 hours on skin with this one....Great scent...I now own 4 scents from Tom Ford.. Noir---Noir extreme---Black Orquid--- tobacco vanaille....Great review my Brother!!!👍

6-7 years ago i would absolutely hated this fragrance, the more my nose has developed the darker, more mysterious scents draw my attention. This thing is mystery babylon in a bottle. This is the harlot of the perfume world. the beast of the apocalypse if you will. Good stuff! -HP

idk if its a batch code thing but my tom ford noir lasts for so long on my skin and clothes pretty much the same which is incredible , i sprayed it three times on a shirt once, and after a cpl of months i could still smell the fragrance, even tho i washed that shirt twice...i hear that the edt is weaker but this edp version is stunning!! lovely scent with niche quality!! and its one of the cheapest of the tom ford line? perhaps

I just discovered Noir. I DON'T care for the weaker EDT version (white bottle), I don't like the EXTREME version (too much amber), and I certainly don't like Noir de Noir (too rosy), and I don't like Black Orchid, either (too much like melted vanilla ice cream)... but I LIKE Noir. It immediately turns bitter on my skin, but that first blast, wow! (Could that bitterness be the iris and geranium?) IN SPITE of the bitterness, I am considering a full bottle.

I really like TF Noir when I first sniffed it...but enjoyed it less and less with each and every sampling. Excellent review, but I give this one a 5 out of 10. I'll stick with favorites such as Tobacco Vanille, Tuscan Leather, Black Orchid, Plum Japonais, Grey Vetiver and leave this one others. Welcome back!

Great job summarizing one of my favorite scents. I wish it performed a little better but oh well. I also love Shalimar so maybe that's why. I do understand the comparison. This is much better than Noir Extreme, IMO. Sadly, the version currently sold in stores is not as deep as it used to be. I say that as someone who generally does not focus on reformulations.

Great review and fragrance, I thing there is a huge dose of resins as well , the opoponax , benzoin and styrax are quite obvious . I use it only for very cold winter nights , when is -5/10 deg C - 4 sprays last me 7/8 hours .

The heavy violet smell reminded me of Parka violet sweets. I hated them and I hated this fragrance for the few times I wore it. It never grew on me. Violet is a criminal note in fragrance for me.

No George, you are not alone, I too love Italian Cypress...love Plum Japonais too but don't see too many others who do. I have only had a sample of Noir and liked it a lot from what I remember.

Apparently touch of black by creation lamis is a good copy of this, I've read it last's for 5 hour's Aswell . It's under £10. With most niche and designer houses now using synthetic ingredients what's the point of spending all that money on noir.

I bought this from Sephora and absolutely hate the smell. It smells so powdery I can't even wear it. Also bought Tom Ford's Black Orchid - its the same - not even wearable to me. I tried to like his fragrances but they've all been a bust for me

Nothing of the sort. Noir smells like a powdery, amber fragrance. Think of a darker version of Burberry Brit. It’s not so dark where it’s inky though. Own both, I wear Tom Ford more than Encre noire.

I tried both and I like the regular Noir edp more. In fact, I don't like the extreme version, it's a totally different fragrance. Extreme is easier to wear, it's joyful so I guess that's why general population likes it more. Noir is dark and sensual.

I never really understood the Noir/Noir Extreme comparison. To me, they're entirely different fragrances. Noir Extreme is much sweeter, richer, younger than the original Noir EDP. They're both absolutely excellent, but as said in the video, Noir EDP is dark, mysterious, gothic, etc.
