@@georgeskanderbeg3242 Yup, I used a 50ml of that and then bought a 100ml of the new batches with the silver plate. Terrible performance, smells great though. I still have a 50ml of the Intense version that I wear sparingly. That one is a beast but not as mass pleasing, the Oud is actually real in that one I think.

When I first bought it, it was stronger and lasted longer. I’m pretty sure the new company reformulated it around 2019 when Tom Ford was bought out.

These conversations are great - it would be great to talk about reformulations - why do they happen, what's a good example of one, and are there any examples where they actually made the product better? Thanks!

He did touch on this on the creed aventus long video
@MyGailb7 ай бұрын
As @tejanissimo said, Richard Herpin talked about it briefly in the creed aventus video. But, for those still wondering it seems like the main reason for a fragrance's reformulation is due to ingredients becoming less readily available. He said that this can happen through the raw ingredients literally being harder to produce (think regulations around animal products, limited amount of a rare material, etc.) or the price of the ingredient simply increases to the point where the perfumer no longer sees it beneficial to include it in the formula.
@mikebrengartner54847 ай бұрын
@@MyGailb yes he talked about it briefly, but it’s an issue that has affected many fragrances over the years, and I’m guessing there’s some interesting stories. Worth a dedicated interview IMO.

Fragrances that go against the IFRA regulations should just have warning labels on them. I hope maybe one day the original formula makes its way into the public domain. I wonder if Herpin was involved in the Parfum coming out this year?

You are absolutely right. But we live in an age where quasi-fascist, quasi-totalitarian types have taken control of government bureaucracies and exploit their power for ideological and political purposes. Just look at what they did during covid.

I picked up the Precious Liquids masculine sample set and it has given me a real appreciation for Richard's nose and ability. They are all pleasant and the accuracy of the fragrance in relation to its name is uncanny. The salt and pepper in particular kind of blew my mind. Reminiscent of a good steak rub in a way with plenty of salt and pepper if I think about it right.

Would certainly appreciate a direct question in relation to why so many people complain about the longevity and overall performance of this scent, especially considering the price tag. I smelled this fragrance on vacation and decided to order a bottle. I'm at peace with short longevity because the smell really appealed to me. I'll reapply when needed. That said people are upset about the performance of this decent smelling perfume. I mean, I've read a whole lot of reviews and it seems like there's a red threading here, where longevity and performance are the only negative remarks. Any thoughts on this? The scent itself is really popular so there's no denying it's held in high esteem. That said, performance seems to drag it down If this is the case, it's kind of sad as one of my top scents is the 20$ Blue Jeans by Versace. It's cheap but at least to me it smells good and has a good projection and the longevity is also fairly decent. Seeing people complain about the performance of such an expensive scent is kind of disappointing. Not meant to subtract to the scent itself, I love it.
