His review is probably based on smelling the perfume in an air conditioned environment with the image of Tom Ford in mind. Well, in that case, everything seems pleasing and lovely. But if you smell it on a man out in the public, specially in India, you'll surely be put off. Gives off the dhoopbatti vibe. I would not recommend anyone to blind buy this specially at this price. I'm sure you can buy so many perfumes that smell better to you and everyone else around at fraction of the price.
