You got that right! He's perfect for playing Hank Sr.
@eyehatejosh13718 жыл бұрын
+David Bergin i have to disagree. he has an ok singing voice, though it fails to do any justice to the moany voice Hank had in his music. Hanks voice was the embodiment of the blue feelings his music had, an Tom Hiddleson does the songs in way thats ok for a cover, but not in a way someone playing the role of Hank should be able to
@davidbergin61848 жыл бұрын
+EYEHATEJOSH And I've gotta disagree with you. While his singing voice doesn't fit Hank perfectly, his acting did. We aren't trying to create the perfect cover band, but to tell a story through film.

I'm from Georgia and that accent is perfect, taking in to account he's English. Hank had a whine when he sang but Tom performance here is very good. Can't wait to see the film....

this is the first time in weeks he looks joyful. though he is so gracious, the conversations have been mostly about one saucy scene in crimson and the voracity of his fans; i think the bittersweet nature of fame is weighing on him.despite this movie being now put outside of award season, he seems to be appreciating the moment which must be a rarity with such a hectic life.
@MisSA21129 жыл бұрын
+whatsinaname I've noticed that too. I only recently learned his name (promoting HeforShe) a few months ago and in that time I noticed he went from really playful and warm to reserved and guarded and it's pretty sad. I can't blame him. Too many crazies and takers out there. I thought Loki was hilarious and layered but I didn't know anything about the actor. I watched some interviews and was surprised he's one of the most intellectual and kind hearted celebs of my generation...but seeing him so much less excited these days has been a sad. He seems like a great person, particularly for one who's found fame.

whatsinaname, you've missed a lot if you think this is the first time Tom's looked joyful in weeks. I'd say he's had a very good time promoting all three films, & yes some interviewers have asked about his nude scene & poked fun at him about his fans, but he's held his own & clearly had an enjoyable time doing a part of the job that isn't always fun for an actor.

A lot of people said Hank William Sr. couldn't sing either. They thought he was too nasal, and too pitchy. The funny thing about a lot of really great singers is, it's not necessarily that they have "perfect" voices , it's the emotion they make you feel when they sing it. Charisma; some folks got it, and some folks just don't.

Evidently Hank 3 criticized Hiddleston for not being his grandfather. Hate to tell Hank3 but he isn't Hank Sr., either. Seriously, Hank knew his own limitations and he cared about his fans. If u ever get the chance, listen to HANK SR in THE APOLOGY. He recorded it apologising to his Washington D.C. fans for missing their show. He tried everything he could to get them to let him make the trip but the doctors refused because he had just had serious back surgery and could barely move. There is no doubting his sincerity and brings a serious lump in the throat of the toughest critic. Listen to it if u can find it...it will give u a better understanding of how the man lived.
@bettyjoegentry30286 жыл бұрын
Can anyone doubt this man's sincerity. This finally gives us an inkling of what he went thru his entire life with spina bifida before anyone even knew what his was. Southern men...especially during hard times like the Great Deprection pulled hard and worked long hours to support and take care of their families They started very young doing whatever they could do to help. I know, I had such a father and 1001 uncles and cousins. They also had little understanding of physical weakness. No doubt Hanks family was critical of him not pulling his weight and he was probably even more critical of himself. The fact that he turned to music came from his gospel roots. Everyone sang in Church come Sunday after a hard work week. Hank and the rest of the world was blessed and they didn't even know it for years to come. He had a very strong mother who was both a blessing and a curse ad was his wife Audrey. They were both selfish and pushy. They did care for him in their own way but he paid a big price for their help. The only thing that males Hank's story unique is the genius and fire for writing the truth. He had very little education but when he expressed his feelings ANYONE could understand them. He kicked musical butt and took no hostages!

peemmza When you're doing a biopic about a famous singer, you must have some similarity in voice quality, TWH doesn't have a similar voice to HW. He has a fine singing voice, definitely not the best, but a solid voice. Not comparative to Hank.

The_Howler Yes I see what you mean. Their voices are not alike. TH seems to have a deep, lower range than HW. Rodney Crowell said he wanted TH to get the essence of the music down more than tweeking vocals to mimic HW voice. The director said he chose to emphasis the drama and story more than the vocal accuracy.
