Tom is always so hauntingly intense.... he has some hurt somewhere he calls on to bring such emotion and heart to all his roles.... totally love him and am glued to the screen when he is on. Am a Hank fan... Tom was absolutely spellbinding and should have won an Oscar.

According to Wikipedia Tom's parents divorced when he was young. I think it said he got into drama at school to help him manage his feelings about that.

I also wonder what has changed in the last two years. He is more serious now, much more quiet in his interviews, no joking around, no weird stuff, no impersonations anymore...

@@begr_wiedererkennungswert He did an impression of someone, I don't know who, and they didn't like and that got back to him. He reminds me of someone who is so afraid of causing offense that they just shut down instead of being themselves. It's a shame.

Loved the film, Tom did a hell of a job as Hank. Now all of you who are upset that this sounds different. He's playing this to his manager for the first time, that's why it's slower, he literally says he wants to run this song by him, not to mention in the movie he's at his peak of Hank's back problems. But if you still don't like it then I respect your opinion. Can't win over everyone

Now I understand, the emotions of the protagonists are too rigidly shown-But now I understand, there is reflected life itself-honest, at times unflattering. And now, realizing this, I'm more and more like the movie. Particularly touches my soul, Tom and his songs. As if in one person, the light and dark side

I just watched the film last night... I like it but it's too focused on the selfish Audrey, it didn't portrait the real fall of Hank Williams, and didn't appear, not even mentrioned, Rufus "Tee-Tot" Payne, the black musician that mentored Hank, a key influence in his life and music (he wrote "My bucket's got a hole") that tought him almost everything about writing and performing songs
@ThomasLover-fr8nh Жыл бұрын
Speaking of Tee-Tot, I wish there were an opening sequence with Hank as a child trying to help his family while learning music from him, then when he grows into adulthood, he performs in Honky Tonks, and then meets Audrey, which would have made a bit more sense... at least in my opinion.

They don't "pretend to be".... Joaquin Phoenix never pretended to be Johnny Cash. It's a role, a character. They are actors and like all actors, it's their JOB to embody a character at the best.
