Here is the story behind the song. Tom and Nova were living in Crenshaw in South Central LA ( the real hood) . They were broke. Theyhad their electricity cut offand were facing eviction. Tom went outside to smoke his last half of a cigarette ,sat down and starting writing this song. He said it only took him 15 or 20 minutes to write the song. He ran back in the house and told Nova he just wrote the song that would change their lives. They ran an extension cord from their neighbors house to their house so they could have light. He recorded the song, Nova shot the video. The next day Tom borrowed money from friends, family and an investor. He raised about $1200 and bought a Facebook ad. It went viral and the rest is history! Crazy thing about when this track dropped was that it went viral overnight and like anyone else who blows up that big that quick the haters hit hard and fast too do everything they could to paint Tom as someone I dont even think he could have faked being lol Haters refused to acknowledge that dear rappers was directed at the content rappers had been putting out and how at that time it was progressively getting worse and twisted the narrative as tho tom was attacking rappers of other ethnicities... not once in dear rappers does tom say anything in reference to race... but they pushed that narrative and many do to this day... after dear rappers tom dropped helluvit hoping that would clarify but nope dropped castles which is literally about taking the time to see people for who they are Castles didn't quite get the hate the others had but it sure as heck didn't get the love iy deserves either. Tom dropped white boy as a point blank clarification and somehow got even more hate then said fck it enough is enough with this house (insanely syck track about the hangovergang being ride or die and real enough that they could think what they wanted and their twisted perspectives of him were no longer of any significance lol he had us and that was more than enough) Tom's journey has been one heck of an adventure so far and he's one of the most open most humble people I've ever had the privilege to get to know a bit... lol he'll answer all your questions along the way in the tracks themselves mind you for as incredible as his journey is very few tend to start at the beginning and work their way thru unfortunately... obviously fans have favorites they will drown you in requests for lol especially as more hogfam show up (which is pretty much a guarantee as well) on the up side there are usually always some hogfam close at hand who can answer questions and fill in the gaps 😂... hangovergang actually came to be well before tom ever went viral 😉 Heck it's been about 8yrs now for me Much love and mad respect ❤️❤️ #HANGOVERGANG4LIFE ❤️‼️❤️‼️

Tom always comes with a message and this was the first of his songs to go viral doing it. 🔥 Hangman and Dear Rappers were put out by Tom directly after he came back from almost a year off while he dealt with a mental breakdown. I look on those songs as the before/after mark for Tom's music. Those were the first two songs Tom released after he decided to start making the music that deliberately had a message he wanted to say in it. In his earlier stuff, the foundation's there, you can see what he would become, and some of the songs are great, but a lot of his stuff was about what everyone else was singing about - partying, girls, money, etc. That's the lifestyle that led Tom to have his breakdown and he spent those months at his mother's really self-reflecting, making decisions for the direction on the rest of his life and what he was going to do with his music. In Hangman, he was still struggling and had relapsed. He and Nova had just become a couple after about 10 years of being best friends. Then he wrote Dear Rappers and it went viral in only a few days. @QualityShXt yes it is... If you say I would like to react to them in order of when he released them, 99% of HOG would respect that, cause then they know you will understand the meaning to each song. It also would be less confusing to you cause you wouldn't have to remember if you reacted to certain ones or not.
