Evan Morgan does the mix & mastering for Brandon Hart. When Tom got busy and had to offload the task, Brandon hooked Tom up with Evan. Evan has a KZbin channel and has videos on the process. Evian even has a video on how he mixed and mastered “Best Rapper Ever”. As for the black contacts: Time for a small history lesson that includes pirates: Back in the days of the tall ships, they used a phrase; “No Quarter”. This meant “No Mercy’. To announce a ships intention to show ‘No Mercy’ to their enemies, they would fly a black flag. The pirate Skull & Crossbones flag was black because they would never show mercy. The ‘Black Flag’ association with no mercy is where the name of a particular insect spray came from “Black Flag” Now, why this history lesson? Next to Tom’s left eye, is a tattoo that says “No Quarter”. The black contacts do not designate ‘Evil Tom’ but rather, serve as Tom’s “Black Flag”, signifying that no mercy will be shown. If you watch “People So Stupid”, Tom has the black contacts but he’s not presenting an ‘Evil Tom’ Butkus bars can be considered merciless: “Saying fat is beautiful, name a thing that you can’t do, jumping jacks, run a mile, live past 42.” That is a merciless statement. Anyway, that is the story behind the black contacts. The ‘Emily’ tattoo is for his sister, Jenna Emily. She played the female news reporter in “People So Stupid” #hangovergang forever 🤘🏽🤘🏼🤘🏻🤘🏿

I like his line of how the Da'Vinci code is embedded in most his songs. They are all sort of an interwoven story. Like the Cancer in Children line in this one, then he has his song 'Cancer'. And shouting out to his fans again: Gang is full of animals ...remember This House and what his gang did? Going back to this song again was great. I bet it makes more sense now.
@deannawalker70223 жыл бұрын
Yes I love the way he does that and he does it in multiple ways. The way he puts his past music and future music is amazing. He also brings the theme back from other verses. Man he is amazingly talented and very smart. The midlevel time refence is pretty cool too.

I am like you and it sucks BUT IT IS MY LIFE and hate or love it I have to do what is best for myself and my husband at the end of the day and forget what anyone else says!!!!!! So KEEP IT UP!!!!!! You do a phenomenal job at everything!!!!!! Mad respect and love!!!!!!!!
This is what we the fans call demon Tom. Basically he's a separate persona of Tom. He beefed with Mac Lethal, Crypt was friends with Mac, and was upset with Tom with his diss track called Lethal Injection, and camed to Mac's defence. But both Crypt and Tom squashed their beef.

To me “who I am” (NOT the eminem way I am remix) is the turning point for Tom... he lays his entire plan out in that song... says everything he wants to do and the things he wants to rap about going forward and then pretty much does it from that point on.

He never had a problem with heroin specifically. It was mostly alcohol and Xanex. I think he was using the term "chasing the dragon" as more of a blanket statement to say that he had a very serious addiction problem. EDIT: I forgot he also mentioned snorting Oxycontin which is basically government-funded heroin.
@gurneyhalleck11273 жыл бұрын
While getting physically addicted to alcohol is actually hard compared to things like heroin, many people don't know that the withdrawal from physical addiction to it is one of the most dangerous. Its so dangerous it actually kills a number of people. Its one of the worst to withdraw from. Many anti-psychotics are dangerous to withdraw from as well, its takes many months to do so safely, more due to change in brain chemistry causing suicidal thoughts. Alcohol withdrawal just physically kills you. Its rough.

Said it before and will say it again, your to damn good not to go straight to the moon with this shit bruv.... Great idea to do a re-visit to pick out more bars, I've watched this one tons of times and still able to dissect something out of it. Your one of the only reactors that I watch that visually see's the lyrics that is being painted, so with that being said I have been patiently waiting for your mind to be blown by "THIS HOUSE" so I get to watch it in real time.... Your going to absolutely fucking love every bit of it... it's going to require many pauses impressions and rewinds and I can't wait for it all! "This House" is right up your alley because you like the same shit as I - the hardened visuals you get from the story being painted in bars... "This house" is wild asf so buckle up and fully ingest the badassery of what it paints. :) Side note: Respect on the commentary and honesty on the chasing dragons bit in this video... It is what it is and we will be damned if our pasts hold us back from plowing forward! Props! Tip: Find somewhere at the end of your vids to mention that you have a organized playlist on Tom for people to check out... because they will (it will raise the views on what you already done). Peace!

Has anyone caught the bar of..." If you put me in the dirt, I'll thrive like your growing pot"?
@jmac79473 жыл бұрын
I think that for Tom the black contacts persona represents the part of him that he wrestles with. And it's not as simple as "good Tom" v "bad Tom". I think it's the part of him that is aggressive. The aggressive/dark Tom is the Tom that is responsible for a lot of Tom's struggles, alcoholism, drug use, etc. But, it's also the part of Tom that protects the other side of him. The more sensitive and artistic side. It's what comes out when people really cut him. In Best Rapper Ever this part of Tom gets Tom to say "I need help from all my demons for my dreams to get accomplished." It seems to me like Tom is telling us that he wouldn't be who he is if it weren't for that part of him. That his darkness is as responsible for his success as his light is. And I think that's true. However, I think the other side of Tom, the light side, is growing and learning to do the things he's needed that darkness for in the past. He's learning that he has his girl and his friends to lean on rather than retreating to the darkness. It's evident in his transformation over the last 18 months or so. Tom isn't the same person he was when he recorded No Response. He's better; stronger. All that said, I could be way off, but I think if you take all his work as a whole, there's a narrative of a guy who is overcoming his darkness, but doesn't dismiss what the journey has meant.

In the track 'D.R.U.G. (dopest rappers under God)' on the third bar he has a name for his ego. Now you can say that's the name of the dark passenger, of that demon. Or it could be that Tom is telling us that name because he drops his tracks on Friday's ... like the character in the Ice cube movies.

This is part of the YT rappers saga. Here he decided not to give names to give them any more views. The whole thing went like this: Crypt and other YT rappers wrote Lethal's rap so Crypt got caught in the process ... 1) Lethal Injection - Tom 2) Single white female - Lethal (Crypt and others actually wrote this) 3) Mac Lethal Sucks - Tom Aftermath: 4) Mac Lethal Sucks pt 2 - Lethal 5) I'm Sorry - Tom Crypt knows he's been caught so he knows he has to carry through: 6) Crypt Cypher vol 2 - Crypt 7) No Response - Tom 8) Rapping from my closet - Crypt There was a whole bunch of twitter smack talk. During the aftermath, Tom decided not to give them any attention directly because it only helps their numbers. Here's a few involved. Yung $hade, Novatore, Jay Wyatt, Michael White, Trap Terell, Yellowpain, Blind Fury, Quadecca, Crypt, and Mac Lethal.

I was watching an interview with Tmac, he said he channels his demons from his days of dealing with his addictions. He said sometimes his demons come out. So I take that as these instances are an alter-persona. This makes sense cuz when you spit real, you dig from your own personal pain and experiences. So I am with you on this when he gets crazy, its like another persona coming out... Then it turned to when is he putting a ring on Nova's finger....lol. I forget who was doing the interview.

Have you checked out D.R.U.G. yet? I think you'll like it! I haven't heard, that Tom ever was addicted to heroin, but I don't know for sure.
