I was jamming out to this 5x in a row with my Uber driver this afternoon. She never even heard of Tom before. She made a comment about Trump because I wore a tactical cap with the flag on it and obviously she knew I was a conservative. So I told her to check it out. I assumed she would say she would check it out later when she was off work. Instead, she pulls this shit up on her phone and plays it. I was like hell yeah crank it! She heard it first time and she was crying, and she's like sorry I have to play this again. I was like girl, play that shit as many times as you want. There I was with a stranger having a special patriotic moment. We will never see each other again, but either of us will ever forget that 20 minute Uber ride and Tom MacDonald we shared together. Conservatives are fucking awesome people.

I’ve never heard of Tom McDonald. “Maybe” because I’m not a Rap fan per se, BUT I do have respect for it. This may be lame to legitimate Rap masters, but when I watched the series “Empire,” I made a point to listen to the lyrics of their Rap songs and understood they tell stories and have messages. Like Country, just with a different beat and delivery. Later down the road, I started listening to certain political Rap songs. I think the reason I’m not “completely” into it is when I can’t keep up with what they’re saying and lose track of the lyrics, I get impatient. It then becomes “noise.” But that’s with ANY music. I just have to pick and choose a little, as with anything. With THAT being said, I guess when you can understand and relate to the words, any type of genre is touching and powerful to you, regardless of the presentation. And THIS song is POWERFUL. It’s not hate filled, it’s just speaking about observations, perceptions, AND truth. Mainly TRUTH. P.S. Greg…You have such a great personality. Your spirit and attitude is always so calming to see. This is the 1st Rap song I’ve watched a reaction to. THANKS! I’ll have to check out more of Tom McDonald’s music.
