Thank you for what you have sacrificed for all of us. It takes a good, strong person to do what you have done and it takes an even stronger person to wake up and push through every day even when you feel like you can't get up. I'm glad you made it back home safe and am sorry for the lose of your father. I hope whatever kind of struggles you may be having or are dealing with get better. If you ever need someone to talk to or just want to vent some im here with open arms and ears. Remember "Everyday in Everyway are getting better and better" -Stormy

Your words are heartfelt. Reaching out is one of the most challenging things that many of us struggle with. But your offer and kind words help. Thank you!
@jacobl6714
@jacobl6714 2 жыл бұрын
@@georgemurphy5529 I can only imagine. I've heard the phrase "thousand pound phone" in aa and na meetings a lot, and it really resonates with me. I say this not to in any way discourage people from being there for folks who are struggling, people like the person who posted this comment is doing the best thing a human can do, but I know I've heard lots of people say they don't understand why addicts/vets/sexual abuse survivors/depressed people don't just reach out and talk. Well, to be honest, sometimes you just end up feeling guilty that someone *did* offer to listen if you talked to them. Like I'm so flawed, and have been so selfish, I don't deserve to have someone show me kindness and compassion like that without expecting anything in return. Or, worse, occasionally you worry that they might actually help you. Honestly the vulnerability that comes from taking those first steps is one of the most horrifying things a human can step into. We'll stay in absolute hell if we think reaching out might hurt even more. "The devil you know" n all that... TLDR; Like I said, the op did an awesome thing by offering to talk if someone reaches out. I know the reasons I listed for why we don't reach out sometimes aren't logical, and it certainly wasn't justifying it. Reaching out is the best thing I've ever done to be honest, got me on the path to getting my life back. Just thought it might be helpful for folks to know. But I'd like to second that offer about being here to listen for anyone who needs that. I can only speak for myself and I'm not a therapist and have only been through the ringer with addiction, but never served in the military, much as I've always wished I could push myself to do so, but maybe that's enough experience that I could at least be useful to someone struggling lol. I've come to realize that's the only worthwhile thing I can do with my life- be there for others : )

I suffer from CPTSD and count myself blessed to not have a memory of life without having PTSD. My heart goes out to those who mourn their lives before going through trauma. I also say thank you to all of our Veterans who served our country and you are definitely true Heros and celebrated every day in my home. After years in therapy, inpatient and out, sometimes on 13 psych meds at once, an alcoholic since I was younger than 13 years old, I am now off of most of the toxic medications, living a sober life for almost 7 years now, mentally better than I have ever been. I was called hopeless for so long but I never accepted it though I was always suicidal and I can not count how many attempts at taking my life that should have worked but failed. It was not my time. I now am thankful for those failures and am making the most of all my time and appreciating life. Please understand if I can anyone can. If you are a Veteran and my Hero then your lives are already worth more than I was ever considered worth so you are already further than you think, stronger than ever. Much love and respect. I hate seeing these pansy liberal idiots use the word "triggered". One second in your or my mind and they would be 6ft under. American Veterans have been making America the only safe place on Earth and they are too dumb to even know. God Bless You and God Bless America!

WOW....this is so friggin powerful I struggle with PTSD daily after 12 years in the Army as a Combat Engineer. I was deployed to both Bosnia and Kosovo and we dealt with IEDs before they were just a catch phrase. In Bosnia I was almost killed by 2 RPGs that impacted the side of a building we had just cleared, I was thrown into the street from the impact....I still wake up screaming from that and other shit I saw and did. There is more to my story, but I am still here to tell it unlike so many of my fallen brothers and sisters in arms. Tom, thank you for making such real, honest and speaking from the heart music. I should have your CD in my mailbox in a couple days, I cannot wait to play the hell out of it. Thank you....I cannot say it enough sir....I appreciate all you do and you do it by yourself...much love from this old soldier......\M/ \M/

This was Me, 20 something years ago. Drunk driving at 110, getting in fights just to feel something, chasing tail I didn't even want, ..because I didn't have relationships,, I took Hostages. I was so screwed up and addicted to every thrill that I expected, and hoped to kill me. I tore myself apart inside and out. Confused as to what I was doing and why,,, spinning further and further out of control.... Thank You Tom. you hit this nail square on the head. Its good to remember those days, knowing I don't have to go back, who and where I was, And know that help is out there. I'm proof of it. thank You for putting this on Blast.

Tom bro thanks for this song. I don't really have the fits I used to with my ptsd (thanks mostly to my awesome wife and son) . I just came across this one today and it just hit home and really made me grateful for who I've got in my corner and I'm not in that dark place anymore. I just want to say man keep doing you bro, it works because its authentic. My whole little family loves listening to your music. My son who is 9 loves your music too bro. He deals with bullying from time to time and your music helps him deal with it mentally as an outlet. I know we all used to listen to em or someone back in the day to escape from the hell we call reality. Your the man these kids are going to turn to for that man and your killing it bro, I can't say it enough thank you for your music bro, we need it in today's world.

LYRICS: And I don't even know no more Rolling down the strip in my two-door Chevrolet And the wheels keep turning And I don't even know no more Rolling up the block in my two-tone black and grey (yeah) And the wheels keep turning I don't even know no more, I swear I don't miss home no more I swear next time I leave I'll stay away til y'all don't phone no more I'll close up all the open doors and mend all of my broken bones I'll sew up all the open sores and throw away the gold I own Tommy was a rapper and his momma taught him better Than to have the time of his life on a night he won't remember But I threw caution to the wind and went to Europe once again And never put the whiskey down because I wished it wouldn't end And now the shit that I should treasure is the shit that I forget And the shit that I remember is the shit that I regret I just want to leave and where I go, I do not know for sure I look into the mirror and I swear that I don't know no more And I don't even know no more Rolling down the strip in my two-door Chevrolet And the wheels keep turning And I don't even know no more Rolling up the block in my two-tone black and grey (yeah) And the wheels keep turning And I don't want to take no pills, or wear these fucking golden grillz I swear I just want children and to build a home in rolling hills Pay all of my hydro bills, spend all my time rhyming still With nobody to pressure me about radio or signing deals Tommy was a rapper and his momma taught him better Than to spend all of his time on a girl if they not together But it went in one ear and out the other, back with the same bitch again Fighters, buddies, haters, lovers, enemies and best of friends I swear to God I'm leaving y'all, keeping it a hundred with you Broken hearts and broken bottles, broke up with a hundred bitches Broken noses, bloody knuckles buddy I ain't fucking with you Back and forth before but now I'm bouncing to get back to business And I don't even know no more Riding around the city with a blunt in my ashtray And the weed keeps burning And I don't even know no more Rolling down the strip in my two-door Chevrolet And the wheels keep turning And I don't even know no more Rolling up the block in my two-tone black and grey (yeah) And the wheels keep turning And I don't even know no more (And I don't even know no more) And the wheels keep turning And I don't even know no more (And I don't even know no more) And the wheels keep turning

We will never be the same we will have bad and worse days but if we can do something that helps us to see the positive or the light etc. And maybe then less of us will die feeling alone when its really the ones that we cant see that are always loving us that are alone when we're gone. @weezy Lloyd. Never feel horrible sometimes when life feels like its putting the weight of the world on our shoulders it is so overwhelming and almost too much, its good when u hear about others problems and realize urs are not as bad it helps you to see the light at the end of ur tunnel(so to speak) and then some people that feel alot of pressure and stress lift so sudden that they may also get inspired to comment on others more severe situations to provide encouragement or even an ear to listen....which in turn helps another. Even though listening to another vent/or being the ventor doesn't solve the problem/situation just having someone listen to u as u vent or even just getting an offer for that can help provide some relief, temporary or not, it can mean the difference between hopelessness and remembering even a stranger can care enough to reach out. And that can also be the difference between a life or death decision at the time for some.

PTSD is a nightmare that never ends. My daughter was a high-functioning college-educated, multifaceted and talented young woman, a research associate in a medical college right out of university. No one knew she was suffering abuse in her marriage, suffering harrassment on her dream job...until she broke. She left her job one day, her husband the next day, and left the state the following day. She was lost to us for 6 years, homeless for two Colorado winters, almost murdered, the perpetrator serving time in prison now. Finally, when she lost every single resource, when her health could take it no more, she asked me if I would come and get her. She has been home two years now, but she lives like one still in survival mode. Living on the street changes a person. It's so hard to see her this way, when I saw her at her best, on top of the worl. I keep praying she will fully come back to us as long as we give her a safe, nurturing environment, but she won't get therapy, so all I have are my prayers, and hope. Your music offers me hope. In this dark world where the love of so many has gone cold, it is such a blessing to hear a young man speak the truth. I'm a fan of the gospel, but I am a fan of ALL truth. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for speaking it.

This isn't a miracle cure in one day but over time, it will def help. Meditate, but not only mediate while you are just breathing tell yourself I AM happy, I AM healthy, I AM etc. Tell yourself what ever you want to believe, yes it's brainwashing because once you have told it to yourself enough the brain and the body will start to believe it. And whenever you are thinking about the stressful situations, change that thought to a positive one, a good memory or I am.... Mental training is by far tougher than any physical training, but it is def the most rewarding if you stick with it. Hope this helps. If you need help just look up affirmations on KZbin and follow along with them. Helps greatly if you commit to doing it every day, the longer you do it each day the faster you will see results. If you can't sleep, cut on some affirmations and just repeat what is being said as you lay in bed, and clear the negativity out and I promise you will sleep a lot better.

@@sonofjudah4343 yea most of my boys would say the same send off...and who wouldnt love the viking faith its got thor in it and all..they lived as gods had a Burning Burial at sea and went to Valhalla to be God's. They were all about family and community and equality for the strength of their partners. Best ppl, best warriors, hence our boys liking them so. And plz plz dont take it hard u wouldn't have made it in time and had u stopped that one there is always another. When i hung myself in may i was in my moms shed moving stuff since she was getting ready to leave to Florida. My ex whose my best bud was in his truck outside to the right of shed. 2 guys powerwashing my moms house to the left of shed. My mom was inside and somehow our neighbor, whose an observant police officer, came over to mow the yard and (he uses our riding mower)-(which i had directly outside of shed.)(dbl doors were wide open to shed too btw) NOONE EVEN NOTICED! I literally told ex dont be mad but take me home to change left with no word to mom made excuse up later and was honest when i came back. "God says im too bad and the devil isnt ready for me to take over"...been unable to die since 1985 (& Valhalla thinks i have more warrior duties here still?) lol.-- Not a laughing matter but i deflect with humor often. Honestly it sux for those we leave behind but (at least in my opinion) know when we succeed at suicide we weren't strong enough anymore that the struggle was going on longer than we ever showed signs of and the longer we fought to remain here for the ones we love (to not cause any pain) the weaker we felt and then by the time people saw it's almost too late we're exhausted and drained and tired of hearing that it the weak way out or how much loved ones will hurt(no offense) cuz we have been hurting we have been strong n at some point u can't anymore. Never believe the what if. To reach that point and succeed there was no coming back there was only the delay of the inevitable. Stay strong bruh. U will see him in valhalla too some day. I have an ex that did this exact same thing! Got to high and I came from work with an SKS pointed at me, and a mirror positioned so he could see all side of the room, so supposedly see what may "pop out at him". Thank you for putting real life to words! You're not alone brother!

This dude is fucking dope I see so many other people saying the same thing that they just found him and spent the day listening to all his songs and they love it, I genuinely think if he had more exposure he’d be in allot more people’s top 10 favourite rappers list, I only found him yesterday and he’s already in mine.

(POSTED AND PASTED ON VETERANS POSTS. I FEEL ITS IMPORTANT FOR VETERANS TO KNOW THEY ARE APPRECIATED ESPECIALLY DURING TIMES LIKE THESE AND ARE NOT FORGOTTEN IN AMERICANS BY THE AMERICAN CITIZENS THEY SERVED AND SACRIFICED FOR)

I ration listening to this one, it always breaks me up. Then I can't resist the comments again. All those people discussing their pain and finding solace in music, people whose struggles I can't even imagine. A masterpiece of great emotional power.

I know I'm really late to finding you. Stumbled upon him through a co-worker and took a deep dive into the tom macdonald rabbit hole. And I am so glad I did. This song has me crying. Its not the first one to do that but this hit way deeper having lost a brother to suicide. I pray for any who are struggling with whatever that has you in such dispair. I couldn't save my brother because no one knew, he hid his torment well. I am so glad that you are so open about your mental health problems. By do so you are helping others, letting them know they are not alone. In the short time I have been listening to you I feel in my heart that God truly let you go through all the hell because he knew that you would come back to him and he could use you as warrior for the battle that is to come. Granted no one knows the day or time and we may not be here when it happens but you, you beautiful soul, are preparing those just might be. I pray for God's continued blessings on you and your loved ones. Much love and respect. HOG FOR LIFE ❤
