Magnificent. I've already rewatched it more times than I can count, and I only discovered it less than an hour ago. The scenes and lyrics flow together really well, and this cover of Castle is quite literally perfect for Tom. The scenes and images you used for "Oh, all these minutes passing, sick of feeling used / If you wanna break these walls down, you're gonna get bruised" are especially spectacular. Tom's on his way to the library, likely being a bit of a rebel and going into the restricted section without a teacher's note (even though his reputation with his teachers would have been more than enough to gain access to it). The front of "Secrets of the Darkest Art" showing up just as the singer gets to "used" is almost haunting in how beautiful it is, and the later parts with the book's interior only add to it. Showing Tom's face as "wanna" and "you're gonna" implies that Tom's coming to the decision to utilize the scribed information for his cause, and that he's decided to throw himself fully into his new commitment to both it and the cause he aims to use it for. He's just passed the point of no return and he knows it, and he's resolved to *damn well* make good use of it. "get bruised" lines up perfectly with the page that has "murder" written on it, as well as the scene with the knife running over his palm, because Tom knows that there are costs to using this magic. He may not yet know just how much it will affect him, as well as his cause, but he knows he will never be the same man he was before using it. It makes me wonder, though. If Tom had known the absolute, full extent of what making the horcruxes would do to him (as in he'd known, in detail, the incompetence with which he had attempted to deal with Harry---let's be honest, he almost completely destroyed his intellect and rationality with what he did to himself, and a great deal of what he did was *quite* far below the bar of children's book villain stupidity. I mean, how dumb is it to torture your minions just because you're in a bad mood because your piss-poor planning didn't miraculously pay off? If you want to use fear, unpredictableness, and blackmail to enforce order and obedience in your ranks, *fine*, I *won't* tell you how stupid you are. I *won't* mention that you're going above and beyond to prove that whatever Slytherin cunning you had during your school years evaporated and that it was replaced by Gryffindor recklessness. Heck, even Grindlewald, the previous Dark Lord, did a smarter job than you did. Yes, he did utilize fear and blackmail, as well as his manipulation skills, and he *did* make mistakes and end up being defeated, but he also worked hard to inspire true loyalty and respect in at least the inner circle of his followers. You had Slughorn, a fellow Slytherin and in fact the *Head* of Slytherin at the time, almost completely wrapped around your fingers, to the point where he answered questions that made him feel absolutely *sick*! It was *obvious* that you were exceptionally skilled in manipulating people, as well as in almost anything to do with magic if your grades and the regard with which the majority of your teachers held you were any indications, and yet you threw away all that potential and settled for a shorter, vastly more unsuccessful life than if you hadn't split your soul to make the horcruxes! ARGH, you stupid, STUPID genius of a boy!! (Apologies for my rant)), would he have again made the choice to make and use them?

The symbolism is amazing. Tom Riddle is heading for the castle of Hogwarts to claim it as his throne once he becomes the leader of the Wizarding World. His reason for choosing the Hogwarts Castle is it is the only human thing left in him - his love for his true home: his school. “They,” the students comprising of the boys who crave to be led by a strong man, and the girls charmed and smitten by his beauty want him to be the “King”. The only obstacle is the old man sitting on the throne - Dumbledore
