Unfortunately, I would guess about a good third of our society are easily brainwashed. Have you ever seen those videos of hypnotists who convince people to bark like a dog? Or watch the numerous videos of cops' feinting and stop breathing because they THINK they touched fentanyl when they in fact didn't. Or consider the millions who fall for those Nigerian and Indian scams. It's not just old people. I have a neighbor who fell for one of those phone scams and lost $50k. There are many Americans who are easily misled; they'll believe because they want to believe. They want to believe that Trump is fighting for them and will save them.

I watched Audioslave play on Hollywood Blvd in the street outside the El Capitan in the mid 2000s -- the show was so packed and got so energetic that LAPD sent in riot cops in full gear. They lined up on either end of the street and started moving in on the crowd. Everything was literally shaking and pieces of the Hollywood & Highland building (which had just been built) started falling off. The cops went up on the stage as the band was playing and tried to shut them down. Tom Motherfucking Morello went straight to the lead, armored cop and put his hand right the fuck up in the cop's face and shut him down. The entire crowd saw it (at least, those that weren't being assaulted by cops) and went bugshit. Tom Morello earned my respect that day.
