For me the song is not about surviving or "being saved", but about accompanying someone who is dying. Bob ends up falling, and the lizard does not take him out, but accompanies him to where Bob has gone. And he gives her the breathing room that we sometimes need to be able to die in peace, looks her in the eye and says, "it's gonna be alright Bob," and Bob ends up sinking (dies). And I'm thinking this because just a week ago, my grandfather passed away after a devastating cancer. And my friend Isma show me this song, and I said to him: I feel like this song talks about my grandfather’s long illness, and how in the end we, his family, could only play the role of the lizards who looked him in the eye and said: "it's gonna be alright grandpa", while we all know that he is sinking. That's life. That's illness. But it is important that we stay together to help someone in their last and, sometimes, painful days. Thanks for this song Tom. In some way, it helps me in my mourning.

I feel like Bob's sorrow in the video, walking past all of these tragic things can be projected into real life because I feel like seeing the news everyday is always such an exposure to all the negative things happening in the world and it always brings me down, but I have to remember there are lizards out there and the lizard could be anything that makes me happy really, such as Tom's music.

I was so excited when I saw the notification for this ! This song has always been one I hold close to my heart, since it helped me through some really bad times and gave me much needed hope two summers ago. Seeing a visual representation of that hope the little lizard gives him was absolutely wonderful. I'm not a fan of the 2D to 3D transition but the symbolic change in animation was a really good touch. Well done Dave ! And thank you for this Tom :)
