What a beautiful bird! Love Alainna's prop as well- she makes a gorgeous propeller. I have no idea at what speed she'll rotate at, but- it can't be more than say 50mph! Finally, I'm unsure at what speed you need to be at to land, but- energy management seems to be critical. I love spoilers, but speed makes the bounce- she just wants to keep flying! Awesome- thanks for bringing us along!

Beautiful job, Tom!! Great first flight....there's always a learning curve in EVERYTHING we do!! With 28,000 plus flying hours....I'd probably do the same thing on my first couple landings....just another excuse to push the power up and go fly some more!! Enjoy your gorgeous bird...she's a real beaut!!! Best Wishes!😀😀

Hi Tom, I love excellent guitar work, and you've provided that; as you have provided us the opportunity to enjoy your superlative success of your first flight in your XENOS. You did a spectacular job of flying your first flight with your E.A.B. Xenos!!!!! I was born in the very early 60s and I have decided to finally jump in and get the lawful authority to fly with a passenger via the powered glider certificate. As of this moment I have NO rating and I don't yet fly ultralights, nor anything else. THAT IS GOING TO CHANGE!!!!!!!!!! I'll begin my instruction on my birthday, or perhaps a few months prior, (during 2019). Your XENOS looks Absolutely Outstanding by the way! God Bless You!

Nice plane and great first flight, I had to giggle watching your landings though and think back when I was landing my Sonex doing the same exact thing.. When the plane starts to bounce like the push the stick forward and get it up on the mains and it will stop hopping..

It was his first flight , I have seen pilots with tons of hours in the same plane do landings like this , it's down on the ground in one piece no damage , so it's fine , love those motor gliders ,

I would think you come down shallow without power and just feel the energy loss onto the ground rather than steer it down. Any wheel brakes on it? It's probably only good gliders that can bounce like that.

What’s a fast cruse speed for your beautiful plane ?

The specs on the website say this can go 140mph with a ceiling of 23,000ft. Is that true?

When landing, once you turn final open your spoilers and don't retract them before the flare. The only reason you should retract them is if are losing to much speed, otherwise leave the brakes open.

+SkyPig Gaming - The Xenos combines full spoilers with the brakes. I think that's why he retracts them at least slightly before touching down.

Wery nice plane! Use spoilers when landing, it is a GLIDER, even with the engine up front... ;-)

Retracting your spoilers just before touchdown (causes lift and increase) in speed is not a good practice for landing....(I am very familiar with the U-2 Dragonlady). On Go around....retract spoilers a little earlier! Congrats on a beautiful plane...fly safe!

I like where he deploys the spoilers on take off, that is to cool man and loose about 100 lbs off that gut.

If you would lose that gut you would gain 3,0000 ft and a lot of glide distance.
