My wife and I would play this entire album over and over when we were first dating in 1977. (She has already taken her little trip to heaven without me). But I’m sure she’s waiting for me with it spinning on an old record player. The song “Martha” made me sure I had to marry this girl. And I did.

Reminds me of a specific young woman I knew in college who was kind, and lovely. Wish we could have got together. When I look back on all the years that have passed I fantasize what it might have been like to be her man, and to have made it as far as my parents have still caring and loving each other. This song is so much moonlight for the misbegotten. It both breaks my heart and sews the piece back together. Susan, I think of you often. More than I care to admit.

My gf of 4 years just dumped me. I've never been closer to anyone, even my own twin brother. She's funny, sweet, and very smart. I became self-destructive over the last year, and I knew this day was coming. I don't understand why I let it come to this, but I think it has a lot to do with me being unable to confront my demons and my emotions. Anyway, hope all is well brotha. I think all of us who have loved have had someone like Susan in their past.
