Loved them back then. Still do. And yes, Christmas comes to Willow Creek was a BEAUTIFUL movie. Meteorites , (Tom) was another great movie. WWJD, WWJD The Journey Continues ( John) were also great movies. The most out-spoken characteristic of Dukes of Hazzard was a family atmosphere. They were all a family then. And what's amazing? They STILL ARE.

My husband and I LOVED the Dukes of Hazzard. Small grandsons got us tuned into it, and we were religious about it as long as it was on. Years later we discovered it as reruns, and we enjoyed it as much as we did first run- until some politically correct idiot had it removed because of the top of the car. It was funny, and it was clean, and you don't find that on TV much any more. I would still watch it daily if it was on. My husband died in 2016 but he would watch it, too, if he was here. I now live in Louisiana - I, too, was a flood victim in Vidor, Texas in 2017, so I'm with a daughter, and my now 6'3" grandson took me to Holden last year after Christmas. John came into the gift shop while we were there, and when I told him about how we got tuned in to The Dukes, and how much we loved it, he hugged me. That was as big a thrill as the day I shook hands with Ronald Reagan!!

True. It was clean, and fun. BUT!!! Oddly enough, at one point in time, it was voted the "dirtiest tv show". BUMS to the guy who decided that, right? It was NOTHING compared to today. In terms of "dirty" -- on national tv.

I never saw the remake. I won't. There's nothing like the original show, the original actors and actresses. I remember in 85 I moved from the town I had grown up in, I was 13, and moved to this bigger rich city. I was from a small town, country, and being in a rich city was tough for a 13 year old. All the kids were rich snobby kids who looked at me like I was a bum. The only good thing was I knew how to fight back in the country town, we used to get together in groups of 10 to 15 boys and 2 of us would get in the middle and fight each other. For fun. I'd go home bleeding and crying but it taught me to be tough and know how to fight. When I got to the rich school, fighting wasn't part of their lives. When the rich popular boys would start with me, mostly cause I liked a certain girl that was part of their group, I'd beat the shit out of them. I ended up befriending this one kid and through him I became friends with his friends. They all liked me real soon cause if anyone messed with any of my friends I'd beat them up. So it took a couple years in the new town for everyone to accept me but most kids were nice and friendly to me. I realized like junior year that the reason I was liked by all the groups, the jocks, the cheerleaders, the outcasts, the drudgery, or the chorus and band kids was cause they were all afraid of me. That made me feel awful. I only beat up 3 or 4 kids in 8th grade and in 9th grade I knocked out a senior who was messing with me for a few weeks. Other than defending myself or my friends, I was a normal chill guy. I had no idea the boys were afraid of me. The girls all liked me which I thought was normal but apparently that was cause they all thought I was this tough dangerous, mysterious guy. My parents used to yell at me cause our house phone would ring 30 times a day and it was always for me. Anyways, my point was when I moved in 85, The Dukes of Hazzard stopped airing. I thought it was cause we had just gotten cable for the first time and Dukes wasn't on cable. I tried to find the show every Friday night but I couldn't. I was so pissed and upset but then I went into a depression anyway cause I had just got a girlfriend back in my hometown and we moved. I never talked to her again. I remember I was sad for like 6 months. I moved on but now I'm 51 and have gone through a lot of issues in my life and everything that's happened goes back to that time. Sorry for the tangent. I miss those days bad

I hate how p.c. we've become in this country. TV companies won't play reruns anymore because of the flag on the General Lee. I understand the reason about it in today's terms, but it needs to be looked at in context. Who watched these episodes and got offended? How often was any reference made about it in the show? I don't recall them ever praising the flag and proud of what it stood for years ago and by a few idiots today. They praised the car quite often, but never the flag. It's sad that something that minor is what prevents older and newer generations from enjoying the wholesomeness of the people and the focus on doing the right thing and good triumphing over bad by the end of each episode.
@jaysmith83296 жыл бұрын
It was BS I still fly mine occasionally and lets not forget in was the democrat flag who after de-segregation all the southern states put some form of it on their flags if it wasn't on it already. Now the democrats are tearing down statues in the middle of the night and changing names of lakes here in Minnesota can;t have the name Calhoun. I'm for one sick of this crap. Couldn't they just blur out the flag I wouldn't like it but it would be a compromise, and wasn't that what America was once about.
@icylynx60676 жыл бұрын
They only mentioned the flag twice once in "The Dukes meet Cale Yarboughoh" Daisy said "I'll paint the flag, I just love that flag." And "Happy birthday General Lee" Luke said "We ain't end the flag on there, put on the orange paint, it's name is perfect" but it is the most ridiculous crap ever
