I have just been super busy at work, ive also recently bought my first flat so ive been doing it up and am moving in in a week or two. I havent given up though and as soon as things settle down there will be more MK videos and Injustice videos when that comes out. Probably also some diablo 3 videos since ive goten into that recently. Ive got plenty of ideas from peoples comments of what to do.

Depends on the character, but yes pretty much every character in the game can get more damage with a basic bread and butter combo than with their X ray so you're better off just saving the meter for combo breaker and enhanced special moves.

i play mostly as scorpion, which is kinda ironic since slips is doing all these epic moves. i also play smoke/ermac a bit, tho im not as good with them as scorp.

Well with scorpion the actual damage you do with a combo isn't that big of a deal because you should be ending each combo with his vortex/ void setups (F21 ~ teleport if they're standing and F43 ~ spear if they're being juggled). These give you a free 50/50 mixup or ateast a free block string which adds chip damage.

They do use them in certain situations but most of the time its just a waste of meter. A lot of charictors xrays do less damage than a combo which uses less meter and also landing a random xray is guess work or a read. They are usefull when you are part way through a combo which will win you the round and the opponant is about to get breaker, doing the xray on the combo give you unbreakable damage. Also they have armor so for example kung lao can xray raiden any time he tries to do B3, 1, 2.

They also usually give you're opponent a ton of meter, like at least a bar. So if it doesn't finish the match for you you're putting your opponent at a pretty big advantage (remember meter is essentially life in this game). Then theres the fact that some characters X Rays are better than others. Kung Lao and Johnny Cage's X Rays are game changers, while characters like Kabal and Smokes are total garbage.

Definitely NOT the best Kung Lao anymore. PL got blown up by scorpion? LOL PL is going to get exposed at MLG if he uses Lao. Stick with Raiden and his cheap ass teleports.
