This video demonstrates how I replaced the supports for the rear door on a 2008 Toyota Sienna minivan.
WARNING: The door is very heavy and can injure people if it falls. Your actions are your own responsibility. Always be SAFE!
The liftgate support, or rear hatch shock is fairly straightforward to replace on a Toyota Sienna.

Just completed attaching the Liftgate supports on my 2014 Sienna LE. It took about 10-15 min. without a helper except for the much needed ladder! I ordered the Liftgates from our local parts store, they came within 48 hrs. With your advice and help, it was easy and simple!

So true. Had a 2004, which just got totaled out in a collision. (It was only a dented left rear quarter panel, but at this age, insurance didn't want to pay for the repair.) This was a near perfect vehicle. Comfortable, drove great, and no significant maintenance issues. I can't sing the praises of this vehicle enough.

If you’re replacing the struts. In a 2013 Sienna XLE you will need to use a socket wrench to remove the upper strut bracket. They have left too little room to be able to pop the top of the strut off as shown in the video. Once you remove the bracket, attach the new strut to the bracket, bolt it back in, and attach the lower end of the strut.
