is there an frames per second limited run? every other speedrun I've seen where having higher FPS was objectively better the community seemed to cap it at 60 to ensure accessibility

in the video he said that higher FPS allows for more inputs while slopeboosting. in other speedruns I've seen (i.e. fallout 2) in which a higher FPS was beneficial the community typically capped it, so as to not discourage players with worse setups from competing, and not unfairly benefit people who could run the game better.

the max framerate allowed is 250fps. but that is really hard to hit even for runners with really good pcs

The call started at 2:47. It ended in 3:39. This means the call was 52 seconds long, 22 more than the 30 seconds marked by the timer. Therefore, this video is segmented, and tomatoanus was using clips from different runs. Ergo, this speedrun is invalid.

I used to run this game when it first came out, managed to get a top 10 time (which at the time wasn’t really impressive so I didn’t submit it) I started grinding for a better time and within 3 days a skip in ARC complex was impossible to hit for me because of fps, so I had to drop the game Might get back into it tho

The great thing about being a fan of speedrunning is that you can never tell if a runner is actually being serious when they say "longest (level/mission/etc) in the run" or if theyre gonna skip 90% of the mission in the first 10 seconds
