the flaps of the holding cell of the warp core in the ash twin were said to "sometimes be different", is that cus you can't be fully precise with your timing or because of rng
@WackoMcGoose10 ай бұрын
@@BLVGamingY I'd assume timing based. All movement in the system is deterministic until acted upon by the player (or Quantum Entitlement is invoked), that's actually the main reason for the loop being 22 minutes specifically: after much testing, the devs determined the gravitational sim is only 100% guaranteed up to about 22 minutes, then floating-point drift begins to occur. Otherwise, if not for Quantum Entitlement specific things, a TAS of the game _could_ be created in theory...
@GeorgeTsiros4 ай бұрын
@@WackoMcGoose Floating point errors accumulating _is_ indeed a major issue when simulating stuff. _However_ the choice they made to have the bodies *simulated* instead of on rails makes little sense _to me_ . The most massive bodies in this star system are affected only by their own gravitational pull. The star at the center is by convention at the origin so that's a constant. Then there's Ash twin, Ember twin, Timber Hearth, Attlerock, Dark Bramble, White hole, Giant's Deep, Brittle Hollow, all of these are indeed interacting gravitationally, but they do not interact gravitationally with anything _else_ . For example, the Quantum Moon will affect the player's trajectory near Timber Hearth orbit (or whatever body the player happens to be near) but it will not affect _Timber Hearth's_ trajectory. Nor will the player affect a planet gravitationally. So you can pre-calculate all these trajectories and have them be constant (the trajectories are constant, that is). All that remains are interactions that do not need to be as accurate in the long run, because their initial conditions can not be precise enough

Taking a moment for mental health is unexpected and admirable, adding a timer at the bottom like an ad read is a tiny added feature that I wouldn't expect anybody to think of, and I have never seen the epilepsy "ding" sound cue used before - it's subtle so it doesn't affect the video but is important for those that need it. You have mastered the art of creating something for everyone, and other content creators should look to you as an example. Keep doing what you're doing. Loved the video, too.
